In first place, a timeshare is not a good investment , so if you actually had one you should sell it, timeshares companies are the top scam on vacational business, my son bought one some years ago and actually he is on the cancellation process, a lot of complaints bring to him , a lot of problems start to emerge when he stop to pay the high maintenance fees, so think about it before take any decision.

I think that a big problem is how the timeshares are selling, so many people (Sellers) say the same promises and stuff , so in nowdays is to difficult to believe again and again..

I have been an RCI subscriber for 25 years. They are not a scam. I have successfully traded my Virginia timeshare weeks for locations in England, Hawaii, Panama and more. On the other hand, they are money-grubbing - their charges are becoming less and less cost effective, sometimes difficult to work with, have a TERRIBLE Web Site...I could go on. But I DO NOT see them as a scam.

I purchased a time-share with my boyfriend in 2005, putting both our names on the deed. Two months later, we split up on bad terms. He hasn't paid any of the $10,600 he owes; I've been the one making the mortgage installments. Financially, I know the legal process may not be worth it, but morally, I feel he needs to fulfill his end of the bargain. He's frequently tried to use the time-share, which is now in default due to my inability to pay. What do you suggest I do?

Timeshares are a horrible investment at this time. It is worse than leasing a car these days and going over the mileage everyday.
