Important: Ownership Changes
Playa del Sol no longer exists in its original form. Its properties have been sold off, rebranded, or absorbed by other companies. For example:
- Playa del Sol Grand was taken over by Bel Air Collection (which itself no longer exists).
- Some properties now operate independently under different management.
However, the timeshare contracts owners signed did not disappear when the brand did. Many former owners still face complications from these agreements.

i am out 8ooo dollars and neither rci or the resort want to give me back anything for the lies and basically theft.
My timeshare is fully paid and I haven’t gotten a cent out of it. I practically threw away $22,000!
Karma is real and they deserve to be hit with all the seven figures punitive damage awards!!
I'm sorry to say that the Playa del Sol agents had lied to me, it has been more than 4 years, but I still have to pay the Maintenance and Taxes & I haven't used the exchange week yet. Due to bank crashes, I am in a bad financial state & so tried to sell the timeshare. The only people we were contacted by were the resale organization which in my mind is as bad as those who sell timeshares in the first place.
These people can't even get their stories straight. We have paid the fee but we promised we would get the word out that these people tend to doubletalk to get you to enlist, even to the point of giving you misleading information.
Why lie? I guess since they got my money, they could care less about us. I do have a friend who wants to take overpaying the (over $600.00) yearly maintenance fee and take the timeshare. So maybe there will be a happy resolve to this after all. But Playa del Sol lies and happily they are going to be someone else's problem now!
All they do is lie at Playa del Sol. If I can but stop one person from making the stupid mistake in purchasing a timeshare from them, it would be worth all the hassle.
First I would like to say these blogs provide excellent information. However, we need to go further and expose bad companies for who they are.
Just got back from a 8 day vacation in PV. I had a wonderful time- if I forget about the 3 hour timeshare presentation I attended at Playa Del Sol in Nuevo Vallarta. What a HORRIBLE experience. After learning the details and how much a fractional ownership would cost, we decided that it would not fit into our budget and said NO.
We also were scammed by Playa Del Sol. We told them we not interested in using the one in P.V. We like to travel and were told you could exchange it ANYWHERE. He pulled out a book and showed all the places to exchange.
When we tried to see if these places were available NONE were.
The breakaway weeks were a big selling point, saying you could sell them. Lies alright!
We have not paid the credit card and would like to file a lawsuit.
