Many years ago, we purchase a timeshare in Krystal hotel, Cancun Mexico. We were intentionally misled about a timeshare at the KRYSAL resorts. We were that told they would re-rent out the unit and we would receive money back. Late we find out that they do not rent it out and company which suppose to do so (Vacation xxx FL), whom we pay extra $500 evaporates... We believed they were going to rent it out and this would help pay for it. There were a lot of other things being said but this is basically a short version. Anyway, our the timeshare was fully paid at the time of transaction. Now, we would like to get rid of the Timeshare because we never use it and will not going to do in a future. If I understan our contract correctly the annual fee must be paid if only vacation week was used. This how it was stated in contract: "per week of use". Exactly the same was explain to us when we signed contract. However, company now asking us to pay annual maintenance fee every other year.

Lili I am not a time share owner and I have to agree with you on the way they give you no choice to eiehtr wait for a sales rep or check into your room. We got there after a long day of travel and were seated in the bar to wait for our rep (about an hour). I envisioned we would be escorted to our room when we arrived however that was not the case. I booked our room through Armed Forces Vacation Club. Unknown to me we would have to sit through a sales pitch before we could enter our room. At first we were not happy at all, however, long story short we were offered discounts off excursions and an upgrade for our room plus $100 to spend in the resort. We had to attend a seminar & sales pitch for 1 1/2 hrs. Was it worth it yes, but I wouldn't do it again (the timeshare pitch) because once again they were not truthful. Both my friend and I have attended timeshares sales pitches. Putting this all aside, I enjoyed the week stay at Casa Maya & in Mexico very much. I would go back again but I would have to know through the booking agency I would only do so if I could be checked into my room upon arrival. My vacation time is way too valuable to sit through a sales pitch again.

We bought this T/S , What a mistake, even having one in Nuevo Vallarta where they have everything, even a hospital.
We got it cuzz we believed we were gonna get our weeks rented through another company. It is a horrible scam,we were told that the rental company was in the USA and with phone numbers in USA we called those numbers, the never answered, so we decided to go to the address that is on the pamphlet. That rental company has never existed and finding out nobody in that area knows about it. Calling Krystal they avoid our calls and don´t give us an answer about our rental money. A friend that used to do timeshare in Riviera Maya at the Mayan, sais that this is a scam this rental companies are a lie they don´t even exist and are not even register with hacienda (goberment taxes offices), every 6 months they changes adress. The worst are The Mayan Palace, Velas Vallarta Pueblo Bonito, Tules, Miramar, Playa del Sol Grand, Bel air, Krystal. Flamisgos. WATCH OUT.

MEXICANS NO COMPRAR ESTAS PERSONAS MIENTEN, LA RENTA NO EXISTE ES UNA MENTIRA, CUIDADO

I had 2 contracts that I purchased previously. I was on vacation in Puerta Vallarta and was sold another vacation ownership program believing that we were trading in 2 time share contrats. The buyer  was suppose to contact us to begin the process of purchasing the current contracts. We bought the new timeshare based on the knowledge that we will receive money back when the process is completed. I now have a credit card bill that was set up with BOA and when I try to contact our salesman I don't get a response.

We've been recently in Cancun, Mexico, on a vacation, and people from Krystal  presented us that we can invest money as they are in need to expand and improve their property, and in return we would get convenient accomodation over in their hotel or in any of RCI locations. We haven't been exposed to timeshare before, and they insisted in their presentation that this is not a timeshare. However we paid a deposit and signed some parpers, including a promisory note for the rest of the amount of a membership, membership that would alow us to benefit further from what they mentioned. We didn't notice right away that actually we signed timeshare services . More to it, all the other conditions in the contract may enslave us to pay them without benefiting from what we thought. The timeshare word is sort of frequently present in on all the papers we have signed, but at that time they drove the papers so that we haven't noticed it, although we should have read it very carefully.

My husband and I purchased a  timeshare at Krystal hotel in Cancun in 2007 while on our honeymoon. Needless to say, it has been a nightmare. The note has been paid off (just finished this year), . Nothing is what they said it would be. We have never been able to rent or sell any weeks. We have never been able to even figure out what weeks would be available. I have spent additional money (outside of the purchase price & maintenance fees) to brokers who were supposedly going to "rent" our weeks out, all to no avail. I have tried booking vacations with ICE which is supposed to be our discount vactioning club that we received a lifetime membership to. only to never get a return call from them. It was a total scam, and I am now a full fledged "member" of the vacation scam!
