About Real Club & The Real Resorts Group
Real Club (also known as The Real Club Playa Resorts) is a timeshare membership program operated by Real Resorts, a Mexican hotel chain with properties primarily located in Cancún and Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The program offers members access to all-inclusive preferential rates across the chain's resorts.

Real Club is sometimes described as being owned by RCI, the largest timeshare company in the world, though the corporate structure involves multiple entities within the Grupo BD conglomerate.
Common Complaints
Real Club timeshare owners and guests have reported a pattern of deceptive sales practices and unfulfilled promises:
1. Unfulfilled Buyback Contracts – Owners report signing buyback contracts (e.g., to sell back interest after 10 years) only to have the company refuse to honor the agreement. One complainant reported being denied a $10,000 buyback.
2. RCI Affiliation Issues – Owners were told they could exchange weeks through RCI, but later discovered that The Royal is no longer affiliated with RCI (having been rebranded to Hilton/Hyatt). When contacting Real Club, they were told they could only use weeks at designated resorts and would have to pay $300 for an "extensive list" of locations.
3. No Price Advantage for Members – Members have found no difference in price whether using their weeks or booking directly. Some resorts require three weeks to use, with prices still exceeding $4,000.
We also were scammed by Playa Del Sol. We told them we not interested in using the one in P.V. We like to travel and were told you could exchange it ANYWHERE. He pulled out a book and showed all the places to exchange.
When we tried to see if these places were available NONE were.
they need to be taught a lesson - lies and deception towards american citizens is simply not acceptable!
I have been member from Real Club since 2001, never had any problem, and they have honored everything they said. Great Club. Invested 30 k and every penny is worth it!!!
recently I increased my points usage with the promise of renting several weeks a year for $6,000.00 US Dls a week. It was a lie, the company they were registering my weeks with never recieved the forms or fee to register it with them.
Why would a timeshare resort give you a free weekend in a wonderful destination for free, or for a very low price? The answer is simple: because there will be some strings attached. That means that you will have to sit through one of their timeshare presentations, and their main goal is to get you to buy a timeshare ownership.
People should learn from their experiences from a timeshare company without any brand name. Normally, this company has no reputation in that field.
I went to a presentation with Real Club, the pressure they put on you is intense. Please be clever enough to avoid them when they approach with a stupid offer
My dear friends don't waste your money please, this resort is a fraud!!!!
Thank God that I didn't go for this presentation. Even I had an approach by Real Club some months back and they said that I will get free package, gift, cool drinks after I attend a presentation if I win in raffle draw. They called me next day and asked me to attend the presentation but I smelled something fishy about it and so I didnt go for it. Now I realized that they really trick people and take money.
Soy miembro de real club desde el 2006 y francamente no e tenido problemas y comparando los precios con otros resort es mucho más barato. Ejemplo 4 días en el Barcelona en Cancún 800 dll por persona éramos 3 total 2400 dll. En real 81 dll por persona diario fueron 740 dll los cuatro días por los tres te atienden de maravilla además hay nuevos cambios más hoteles con la nueva fusión
