I wish I had treated my Palace Resorts membership more like a major contract and less like a vacation purchase. I was focused on where we'd travel and didn't spend enough time thinking about what the membership would mean several years down the road.

Now I'm constantly weighing whether the program still makes sense for us. That's not something I expected when I signed up, but it has definitely made me more careful about these kinds of offers.

Palace Resorts has been a lesson in reading the fine print. The sales conversation made the membership sound extremely useful, but when I started trying to understand exactly what was included, I found more conditions than I expected.

I'm not saying every member will have the same experience, but I definitely think people should compare the membership against simply paying for their vacations individually. Once you're committed, getting out of the arrangement can be considerably more complicated than getting into it.

I've stayed at other resorts where changes to a reservation were handled much more simply. With Palace Resorts, I found myself having to clarify exactly what could and couldn't be changed before feeling comfortable proceeding.

The problem wasn't necessarily the policy itself. It was that the explanation wasn't particularly clear the first time around. When rules involve money and reservations, I'd rather have everything explained plainly instead of having to piece it together through several conversations.

My complaint about Palace Resorts isn't that every interaction was bad. Quite the opposite—some employees were excellent. The problem was that the quality and information varied enough that we never knew what to expect from one department to another.

We'd receive one explanation and then have to clarify it somewhere else. For a resort positioned at the higher end of the market, I expected the internal communication to be much tighter.

  • Mallory WhitakerAugust 21, 2026, 2:43 pm

I expected a more polished experience from Palace Resorts, particularly when it came to communication. Some staff members were excellent, but we received conflicting information about certain services and had to ask several people before getting a clear answer.

That's what stayed with me after the trip. The property itself wasn't the issue; it was the inconsistency. When you're paying for a premium experience, you expect the communication to feel just as organized as everything else.

  • Colin MerriweatherAugust 18, 2026, 5:20 pm

I expected a more consistent experience from Palace Resorts. Some employees were fantastic, but there were also moments when we received conflicting information about services and benefits. Having to ask several people the same question isn't what I associate with a premium vacation.

The resort itself wasn't the problem. Communication was. When you're given different answers by different departments, even something minor starts to become frustrating because you don't know which version you're supposed to follow.
