AAA Recognition: In 2023, 38 resorts in the UVC portfolio held AAA Diamond designations, with five resorts earning the prestigious AAA Five Diamond rating.

Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC) is a vacation membership program that operates similarly to a traditional timeshare, though it does not involve actual real estate ownership. Instead, members make a down payment and monthly payments to receive discounted rates at a portfolio of luxury resorts. The club is marketed as offering free or deeply discounted weeklong stays at high-end properties with opulent suites, pristine beaches, swim-up bars, and private concierges.

Important: UVC is not affiliated with the Unlimited Vacation Club brand operated by GBS International, Inc. in the United States. The Mexico-based club discussed here is operated by AMResorts® and is closely tied to Hyatt's Inclusive Collection.

Unlimited Vacation Club was presented as something that would simplify family vacations for years to come. Ironically, we've had to spend more time reading policies, comparing availability, and calculating extra costs than actually planning exciting trips.
After a while, you stop feeling like a member receiving special benefits and start feeling like you're constantly trying to figure out how the system works. That's not what we thought we were buying.

We purchased into Unlimited Vacation Club believing it would make family travel easier as our children grew older. Instead, every year seems to introduce new limitations, additional costs, or booking conditions that weren't part of our original expectations.

The disappointment isn't only financial. It's emotional as well. You build traditions around these memberships, and it becomes discouraging when those traditions depend on availability that never seems to align with real life schedules.

I joined Unlimited Vacation Club because I wanted fewer complications when planning trips. Instead, I’ve found myself keeping track of fees, availability, rules, and confirmations constantly.
The idea sounds convenient, but the actual process has been much more demanding than expected. Eventually you start wondering whether the membership is saving you time or just adding another responsibility.

I joined Unlimited Vacation Club thinking it would simplify future travel plans. Instead, it became another thing I had to keep track of: availability, fees, restrictions, and constant confirmations.
The idea sounds good on paper, but the reality requires much more effort than I expected. I wanted convenience, not another complicated process to manage.

  • Peter LangstonJune 15, 2026, 2:54 pm

I joined Unlimited Vacation Club because I wanted less stress when planning future trips. Instead, I ended up with another thing to manage: fees, restrictions, booking rules, and constant follow-ups.
The concept sounds convenient, but the practical side has been much more demanding. I expected the membership to remove complications, not create more of them.
