Common Complaints from Xcaret Members:

  • The seller convinces the customer to waive their five-day right to cancel, claiming that the membership they are purchasing is a special one-day-only offer.
  • The seller promises to sell the customer’s old timeshare so they can pay for the new one. In the end, the customer is referred to a resale company that doesn’t sell their old timeshare, leaving the customer stuck with two timeshares and the maintenance fees for both properties.
  • Difficulties in making a reservation.

Hotel Xcaret has beautiful surroundings, but the overall experience didn’t live up to the hype. The “all-fun inclusive” concept sounds great, but in practice, the parks were overcrowded and transportation between them was chaotic. We spent more time waiting for shuttles than actually enjoying activities.

Inside the hotel, the service was inconsistent. Some staff were wonderful, but others seemed indifferent. Our room had a fantastic view, but housekeeping missed details, like not replenishing toiletries or water bottles. For the price, I expected a more seamless experience.

Hotel Xcaret looks beautiful, but the experience didn’t match the price tag. The food was inconsistent, with some restaurants being much better than others. Waiting times for reservations were frustrating, and the lines made it feel more like an amusement park than a resort.

Another issue was the constant upselling for tours and packages. We wanted a relaxed stay, but instead we were bombarded with offers and pressured to buy experiences we weren’t even interested in. For a place that charges luxury prices, it didn’t deliver the peace and quality we were hoping for.

Hotel Xcaret looks stunning in photos, and the property itself is beautiful, but the actual stay wasn’t smooth. Getting reservations for restaurants was difficult, and some activities that were advertised as included had hidden limitations or extra costs. The room was fine, but the service didn’t match the price point.

The biggest issue was how complicated everything felt. Between long waits, confusing rules for booking activities, and staff that often gave contradictory answers, it turned what should have been a relaxing trip into something tiring. It’s a gorgeous property, but the experience didn’t feel worth the hype.

Hotel Xcaret looked amazing online, but the reality didn’t match. The resort is huge, and while that sounds nice, it made getting anywhere a hassle. We spent so much time walking or waiting for transport that it became tiring.

On top of that, the restaurants were hit or miss. Some meals were great, but others felt average for the high price. Staff seemed rushed and overwhelmed at busy times, and the experience didn’t feel as polished as it should for such a well-known resort.
