I am a victim of this timeshare too and I have been paying every month for more than 3 years now. This time, I wanted to cancel my membership because of the bad experiences that I have with this company, and for charginng me unathorized amounts. I am so desperate to really get out from this trap. This El Cid company is worst. I also read numerous complaints about this timeshare scam which made me want to stop my membership asap.

They're one of the most fraudulent resorts, in my opinion. I'll never buy a timeshare with El Cid.

I have a love/hate relationship with my El Cid timeshare. However, their system for using RCI for trades is, I think, a pain. I still hold out hope that they will change it.

El Cide is a total rip off. They make so many promises, then you try to use them and there is always an excuse. For example, we upgraded to Diamond level and were promised we have a guaranteed room whenever we want to come out. The first time we tried to reserve a room, we were told they were full. This was for mid May, before most schools are out. They will tell you anything to get your money.

Bought 300,000 points for $37,000 US. Was given a members directory after paying and lo and behold the directory contradicted what we were told. For example we were told we would get 25% off rooms at El Cid resorts but what we found out was that this is only available in Mexico resorts. We were told we can book resorts anywhere in the world but was not told that we first have to transfer the points to RCI and then book. They misled us into how many rooms we can get for our points. I will not recommend this to anyone. Would like to sell.

This is really one of the most fraudulent resorts.
In general, the hotel is so pretty and confortable, but about timesares are abusers.
Don't ever get a timeshare with them.

I would like to share with you what happened to me with my husband, we went to Mazatlan, Sinaloa to take a good holiday and people of El Cid Marina told that we would receive a breakfast, tours and others if we accompanied a talk . The next day we went and thought it would be a good choice to stand out we could rent the timeshare and recover the investment, which is not true, we could never do it, we would have a number of points to travel around the world and always find vacancies where we wanted, something that did not happen, in short, everything that we were told about the timeshare has been a real fraud, invest too, a deposit of 200,000 pesos and could not keep paying, so we approach PROFECO, truth have a department full of such complaints and we had sessions, but did not get anything.

Hi! I have the same problem, I think maybe timeshares could be good for families who usually travel, but for families who only travel ocassionaly aren't good. Before signing read the whole contract. And I prefer not to get timeshares any more.

I have also had the same problems with El Cid and lost money because of it. I am in contact with a company who is sorting it out and helping people get their money back if anyone wants to join too? My email is [E-mail] if you want any info or want to talk about it.
