  •  Clients are sent the full contract on a CD to their home address. They do not receive a full copy to review and decide whether or not they want to cancel within the 5 day rescission period allowed by Mexican Law.

Like others we bought our timeshare at El Cid Cozumel while on a cruise. A few years ago we booked a week there, they didn't even have our names in their database as timeshare owners. Am I still obligated to pay Wyndham the maintenance fees? Which have more than doubled since our purchase. Yes, we were told we could rent out our week and make money, that we'd have first priority when we book at El Cid, none of which is true. I'd like to just be done with the maintenance fees and I am willing to walk away from the timeshare.

I also had a bad experience with the El Cid Resort in Mazatlan. They sold me a timeshare with so many promises, but were never able to deliver any. Every time I called to make a reservation, either the system was down or they would get back to me but never did. My timeshare is fully paid and I haven't gotten a cent out of it. I practically threw away $22,000!

      Hi Victoria,
we are in the same situation, with the same $$ figure. We paid it in full but did not use it. Did you try to cancel the contract? We are thinking of sending them a registered letter with a request to cancel the contract and get some money back. have you stopped paying the maintenance fee?
      Thanks,
      Tanya

I was promised that they would purchase my old  timeshare  for $30,000 US but nothing happend.  They completely misrepresented the benefits. I want to cancel my contract and I have problems contacting them.

The same thing happened to us. We were ASSURED that our original timeshare would be sold within three months by Cecil Jensen. It has been almost a year now and nothing has happened. We feel soooo stupid for not listening to our inner voice

3 year ago we bought a timeshare at El cid, they lied us and we are looking the cancellation of our contrac. What are our chances of cancelling the current contract and getting our money back? They have received almost $40,000 in cash as a result of the fake $20000 addendum.  Would also like to be sure that they don't report this to collection agency or credit reporting bureau.
