Common Complaints:
- Salesperson promises to buy back the timeshare at a better price should the client ever decide that they no longer want to use it.
- Salesperson promises that they can rent out their weeks for over 4 times the price of the maintenance fee. They can choose to use some weeks and rent others so that they have free vacations, or rent them all so that they can pay off their membership quicker. The clients are referred to a rental company that charges them a listing fee to market the property and does not rent any weeks.
- In the presentation, they claim that the all-inclusive is for corporate weeks only, and for regular weeks they can choose whether or not to pay for the all-inclusive. In reality, all-inclusive is mandatory for usage at all their Cancun locations.

My husband and I purchased a membership this may in Cancun. The sales tactics were aggressive. They told us that they would sell our others properties we are asking for our money or to sell the properties back to them also they told us that we could rent it out easily and that the timeshare was a invest and will grow in value but it was a lie. We want to terminate the contract and recover as much of the money as possible. I’m unemployed and we cannot service this debt with one income
The seller contacted us with a company that would rent out our weeks for a good quantity of money and our other membership in USA would be sold, but we have not received any of the money that they said that we would receive, we are starting to believe that we also a timeshare scam victim.
A seller from Playa del sol promised me a rental income, but the only thing that I got it is a bad debt. They pressured me to sign the contract and I didn I didn´t have enough time to read it cover to cover. I contacted Playa del Sol to see if I can cancel the contract and they said me that it is not possible to cancel.
I bought a Timeshare on August at Sunset Lagoon. We signed the contract, the next day we back to the resort and told them that we want to cancel the contract. When we back home Profeco has all the paperwork, but nothing is being done. We filed a dispute too, but we are worried about it, because we don’t want to lose our money.
Last year we purchased a membership at sunset lagoon in Cancun, 4 days later I tried to cancel the contract according to Mexico Law, I was told I could, but still have had no luck in getting my money back . The payments are now going to start coming off in my credit card and I have not a response from them.
Sunset lagoon promised me to rent my weeks for $1300 everything that they said me was a lie. They told me that If I didn`t used the timeshare I didn`t have to pay the maintenances fee, but 2 days ago I received an email saying that I have to pay a maintenance fee for $500
My wife and I felt pressured by Sunset Lagoon and we purchased a membership. When we got back to the hotel, we were smart and read the whole contract and didn’t like what we saw. We went back the next day in order to cancel the membership. They tried to deny us the right to cancel our membership, saying it was non-refundable, but we wouldn’t leave until they cancelled our membership.
I bought a membership at sunset. We Agreed that it would be an investment and they would get $34,000 after 5 year from rentals. We signed and agreement and they never rented. We never used it. We wrote to the resort and they wouldn’t cancelwe filed a compliant with profeco but they wasn`t able to help us
On November of 2008 we attended to a timeshare presentation. Once we were there I let know to the sales representative that I was having a hard time in my life since I was getting divorce, the salesperson provided me a BOTLE of champaign. I got intoxicated, where I came from if you sign a contract being intoxicated the contract can be consider as null and void. Unfortunately they took advantage of myself and they drove into this fraudulent contract.
En abril de este año firmamos un contrato con Sunset Laggon para comprar una membresia por $17,000 dólares americanos, se suponía que ellos iban a tomar nuestro otro tiempo compartido compartido con real club como parte del pago, nos manejaron tratos inexistente porque ahora no lo quieren respetar , la escusa que usan es que el vendedor los hizo por su lado y ellos no pueden hacerse responsables por algo que el vendedor invento.
