Background & Rebranding History
Punta Pacifico (originally marketed as Encanto Bahía fractional ownership) is a resort located in Mazatlán. While older online complaints frequently describe this property as "pre-construction" or "partially built," the physical resort is now fully completed and currently operates under the new name Diamond Bay Boutique Resort By Bloom.

However, the completion of the building does not erase the operator's troubling history. This property has undergone a clear pattern of rebranding to distance itself from negative publicity. Consumer advocates have traced its marketing names as follows:

La Jolla → Punta Pacifico / Encanto Bahía → Diamond Bay
Each name change appears to have been deployed strategically to shed a growing backlog of scam allegations, unresolved complaints, and poor reviews—while the underlying operator (Compañía Hotelera Nadia S.A. de C.V.) remains the same.

Persistent Complaints (Despite the Name Change)
Even though the resort is now finished and operating as Diamond Bay, the core complaints against this operator have not changed. Victims consistently report:

  • High-pressure sales tactics using fake "resale guarantees" to push larger purchases.
  • Unfulfilled rental promises, where owners are talked into renting back their weeks but never receive payment.
  • Extreme booking unavailability, making it nearly impossible to secure desired dates.

Bottom Line: The name on the building has changed, and the construction is finished—but the sales tactics, legal violations, and consumer grievances remain identical. If you are considering any purchase, exchange, or rental involving this entity (under any of its names), proceed with extreme caution. Always verify your 5-day cancellation rights under Mexican law and refuse to sign any waiver that attempts to override them.

La Jolla's sales people took $20,000 from us; they were to purchase two timeshare properties from us and return $30,000 to us within 180 days. We were also to receive membership in a travel company which would give us first class accommodations around the world and air travel, etc. None of this has been realized. They do not answer our inquiries. We conclude it is a scam.

I had an unpleasant experience with these people, do not mind them cheat and steal all my money, now i travel a situation in which I run out of house and everything to be paying the lawyers of these rats, primarily because i canceled the timeshare and I did not read the contract, be very careful with these scammers.

I would recommend anyone that is reading this post; NOT TO BUY AT LA JOLLA, the sales people appear to be your friends and will show you family pictures to put you at easy but god knows what are they thinking when they feed their prey with lies and misrepresentations.

i was very close to get trapped on this, at first like every tourist on a different country we want to enjoy and to feel free of any pressure , all people was very kind to me and my girlfriend, then a friend of mine told us to go to these hotel or whatever it is , so that time my wife and i we have a lot free time , so we decide to go and to see what could happen..and yes like a herd of wolves.

There is a statement in the contract saying that everything given you verbally is not the subject of this contract. You have 5 business days to cancel it and PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY COMPLEMENTARY SERVICE, or you will have an issue to get back your down payment.

We purchased (although I didn't want to I succumbed to my husband's want to purchase) the two days ago. I realize now after reading many complaints that my feelings were right and we were deceived and scammed as many others have been. There is a clause that you can cancel within five business days so we plan to do that. Has anyone had success with this? We're you able to get your despot back?

we bought here for $8,000 US maybe 5 years ago……..fools!! Any way to recover any of this?

  • alex t.January 15, 2015, 12:00 am

dont buy anything here pls, is totally scam , some friends told me that they had a lot of complaints with them , they stole your money without remorse , and another stuff, like high extra charges of maintenance , they demmand that are the top timeshare on that place, but if you want to cancel it is gonna be very difficult to do , so the better option is to avoid this

Don't fall for it. Now I believe why they said too good to be true is probably not true.
