Pueblo Bonito Fractional Ownership: Resorts, Locations, and Common Complaints
In this section, you will find valuable information about Pueblo Bonito’s fractional ownership business. If you are thinking about buying a timeshare at Pueblo Bonito resorts, or if you have already closed a deal, there is content on important review sites where people share their opinions about their timeshare-buying experiences at various resorts, including Pueblo Bonito membership reviews on those same sites.
Pueblo Bonito Resort Portfolio
Pueblo Bonito is a Mexican hospitality group founded in 1994, with its first resort opening in 1987. Its holding company, Blazki, operates brands such as Pueblo Bonito, Emerald Bay, Sunset Beach, Montecristo, Novaispania, Copala, and Coronado.
Today, Pueblo Bonito operates nine luxury resorts in Los Cabos and Mazatlán, plus two Pueblo Bonito Vantage properties in San Miguel de Allende and Mazatlán’s Centro Histórico.
Los Cabos: Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, The Towers at Pacifica, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort, Montecristo Estates Luxury Villas, Pueblo Bonito Rosé Resort & Spa, and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort.
Mazatlán: Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Estates Luxury Villas, and Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán Beach Resort.
Pueblo Bonito Vantage: Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende, a 111-room property in the Distrito Corazón area, and Pueblo Bonito Vantage Centro Histórico Mazatlán, a 24-room retreat inside a restored 19th-century building.
Quivira Los Cabos and Copala
Quivira Los Cabos is an 1,850-acre master-planned residential and resort community in Cabo San Lucas, developed by Pueblo Bonito founder Ernesto Coppel. It contains several residential communities, including Montecristo Estates, Copala Residences, Coronado Residences, Alvar, and Old Lighthouse Club, as well as the Jack Nicklaus-designed Quivira Golf Club.
Copala is a gated, full-ownership community within Quivira. It features colonial hacienda-style condominiums and townhomes, along with access to the Copala Club House and other Quivira amenities. Copala owners also receive discounts at Pueblo Bonito resorts, including reduced rates on dining, spa treatments, and golf.
This distinction matters because Pueblo Bonito operates both full-ownership real estate and fractional/timeshare products. Buyers should understand which type of ownership they are being offered.
Fractional Ownership and Timeshare Details
Montecristo Estates, Emerald Estates, and Novaispania Residences offer fractional ownership options. Novaispania Residences is described as the most luxurious fractional opportunity, featuring a 10-acre residential community with 28 home sites and 1,200 Pueblo Bonito Universal Points each year.
Access to other Pueblo Bonito resorts depends on your ownership level, so owners should refer to their ownership information to confirm eligibility.
Common Complaints and Reviews
Despite the company’s prestigious portfolio, when it comes to Pueblo Bonito fractional ownership (Pueblo Bonito Travel Club), selling it is not as good as the company claims its treatment of guests is, as seen in recent Pueblo Bonito timeshare reviews and common complaints.
Common complaints include:
- A salesperson has the client sign a waiver giving up their five-day right to cancel, claiming it is a special one-day-only offer. This is illegal in Mexico.
- A salesperson promises to sell the client’s old timeshare to offset the cost of the new timeshare. In the end, the client is referred to a resale company that does not sell the old timeshare, and the client is stuck with two timeshares and the maintenance fees for both properties.
- Complaints about Concord Pueblo Bonito and Pueblo Bonito Travel Club.
Reviews also mention Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, including problems with membership updates that clients say do not benefit them.
Online Pueblo Bonito Travel Club reviews and the complaints above show that the scam problem is growing. Much of this happens in Mexico, where salespeople exploit foreigners’ and tourists’ limited knowledge of local law while they are on vacation. Similar issues are reported at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, including poor management and unpleasant staff after guests reject timeshare invitations.
If you are considering fractional ownership, work with legitimate companies and stay alert. Check the seller’s background online, and be suspicious of anyone asking for an upfront fee; trustworthy deals are handled like real estate transactions.

i don't know what else to do, i need help, i've been scammed by these liars!!!!!
la verdad me la pasé muy mal en este hotel, aparte porque el clima que se que no fue su culpa, estuvo feo, en realidad el hotel esta muy impresionante en cuanto a arquitectura pero en cuanto a servicio y calidad es un ROBO.
What a ripoff! Nowhere in the contract it says we have to pay the fee before we transfer points.
I am just shocked that the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach property has so many complaints dealing with the same issue as I am having. I purchased a Jr. Suite in April of 2013 and the sales person (Carlos Lopez) completely lied to me about what I would receive with the purchase. When I first phoned Carlos to discuss my purchase I never was able to reach him. After two months of calling and sending e-mails to Carlos, I phoned member services and reservations and was informed that Carlos was no longer employed there and everything he told me was not true (misinformation). After I was given this information, I was referred to a person by the name of Ramon, whom I was told to contact regarding any questions I may have. Again, after several times of trying to reach Ramon, I was informed that he was no longer an employee there. I purchased my Jr. Suite with a down payment on my credit card and paid the balance with a check because I did not want to finance anything. I have asked over and over again for my Certificate of Ownership and to this date I have not received it. It seems like this is a pattern with PBSB as a scam. The sales person tells you all these lies to get you to purchase. I believe that Carlos and Ramon are both still employed there. Has anyone started a class action law suite against Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach? Can anyone help me with information as to how to get my full refund back?
The situation has been satisfactorily resolved. On February 16,2012, The contract is void now which makes me very happy.
The timeshares are expensive but we really enjoy staying at Rose' and Sunset beach. We have traded with RCI for other condos many times but have never stayed anywhere nearly as nice.
I agree with Armin - I too have been suckered by Pueblo Bonito Sunset in several different ways. Primarily is that when given the sales pitch they out right lie to you, or knowingly withhold information, even when asked a specific question. For instance, when asked if I could use any of the Pueblo Bonito’s for our purchased week I too were advised I could . They neglected to tell me that Iwould first have to deposit our week into RCI and then pay the exchange fee, just like I would with any other exchange.
This is very unfair and I wish I could get out of my ownership at the Pueblo Bonito becuase of it. . Although it is a beautiful resort, it is not where we want to be. I should do this too Armin - I will take my losses and cancel my ownership and search every blog on the internet to warn people of the Pueblo Bonito’s deceit and unethical practices. BUYERS BEWARE. STAY AWAY FROM MEXICAN TIMESHARES.
After vacationing at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay for two years we purchased a junior suite timeshare for every other year. We have been very pleased with it and love the resort. This year when we visited went to the owners pitch, where we were told if we purchased additonal, that we would be move to the point system, no annual maintenance fee unless we actually use it. We had a friend who had told us they wanted to sell their timeshare because her husband had died and she no longer goes. We were told if we purchased hers (annual master), plus another (annual junior), combined with our bi-annual junior, that we would have 900 points each year, with 100 = junior, 200= master, 300=presidential, and so forth. We looked at this as a great opportunity to sell to other vacationers and pay off our purchase. We were really given a great hype and got very excited. We didn't want to purchase the extra junior until we got back to US to confirm with our friend that she still wanted to sell hers. They told us that if for some reason she did not sell, our salesman had other customers who wanted out of theirs and that he would assure us the ability to buy one of those to consolidate into our contract and have the 900 points per year. Well, stupidly we signed on. When we got back home our friend had changed her mind. We contacted our salesman and he assured us it was no problem, and he would get us a resale to add in. Well, after many delays he sent us a contract (through is own company) to purchase a master, to consolidate with our others. We sent him the money after signing the agreement which said the owners would transfer the property within 48 hours of receiving the money. It has now been over 4 months, and every communication we have with our salesman has another delay. We finally told him we wanted to cancel the transaction and also cancel our purchase at EB, and go back to our bi-annual junior only. He said that he would take the steps necessary. We still have not received our money and every communication has additonal delays. We know we have been scammed, but feel PBEM is responsible to right this issue (the sales manager had even given us a letter while we were at EB that confirmed that the consolidation of all properties into the 900 points would occur). We no longer want to communicate with the salesman but don't know who to go to. We feel the sales manager is part of this scam. Who do we contact? Can anyone give us suggestions?
Just discovered that an additional refurbishing fee of 5 x the annual maintenance fee will be charged every 5 years. This was not disclosed to us at time of purchase. Can I get out of paying this fee?
Thanks to Briselda with Pueblo Bonito my concerns are being addressed. Pueblo Bonito has stepped up and is taking care of the problem.
