Royal Holiday doesn’t have the best reputation within the timeshare resorts. Most of their sales are done under high pressure sales tactics, a high number of members at Royal Holiday feel like they have being lied and scam and most timeshare contracts are being misrepresented.
One of the most common scams at the moment of purchase is that Royal Holiday’s sales person will make you any verbal promise to get you to sign their contract, however the contract clearly states that any verbal promise made by the sales associated are invalid unless those promises are establish within the contract.
Royal Holiday promise one of the best customer service for their members, this only happens if the current member is calling to make a payment and if you have any questions or concerns about your membership the associated is more likely to tell you they will send you all the information over email, well sit thigh because this email will never arrived, The most common answer to any unhappy member at Royal Holiday is to Upgrade your membership no matter what is that you are unhappy about and you end up paying more for a membership you weren’t happy to begin with.
Booking with Royal Holiday is another issue, at the sales’ pitch, they promise you can travel anywhere at any time you want. This is very untrue, it all depend what points you buy and unfortunate they will always sell you the small point package so at the time you realize you need more points, you will need to upgrade and pay even more money to them.
Most Royal Holiday’s Sales are done outdoors or other locations that aren’t Royal Holiday’s Sales office, as a “courtesy” from them, they will let you purchase and sign their contract at the spot, “hey! You wouldn’t miss the opportunity of a lifetime, right?” So by this the sales associated will briefly explain you the contract as their convenient, probably letting out important information to you. Some sales associated opt for sending all the documents to your home, mean while you enjoy of your holidays or vacations, by the time you get home and read careful the contract you realize your purchase is not what you though It was and even worse realize your recession period is over.
Royal Holiday sales associate tells you are doing a great investment in real estate, another huge lie, timeshare is not nor an investment or real estate, you are leasing a hotel room for a period of time once a year, and therefore you do not own the hotel. It is not an investment because there is not market for resale or renting out your unit therefore no profit.

Con Royal Holiday terminé aprendiendo a la fuerza que tener una membresía no significa necesariamente tener disponibilidad cuando uno quiere viajar. En varias ocasiones tuve que cambiar mis planes porque las opciones que buscaba no estaban disponibles en las fechas que necesitaba.
También me preocupa el futuro del contrato. Cuando uno compra, piensa en las vacaciones que tendrá durante los próximos meses, pero debería preguntarse desde el principio qué pasará si después quiere transferir, cancelar o simplemente dejar de utilizar la membresía. Esa es una conversación que vale la pena tener antes de firmar.
Royal Holiday has become frustrating because the membership doesn't feel as flexible as I expected when I purchased it. I've had to adjust travel plans around what is available rather than simply choosing the dates that work for us.
The part that really changed my attitude was seeing how much planning is required before I can even tell whether a trip will be practical. At that point, I started wondering whether I'd be better off keeping my money available and booking hotels normally.
Royal Holiday became frustrating for me when I realized that planning far ahead doesn't automatically solve the availability problem. I contacted them with plenty of time before a trip, but the options that fit our schedule were still limited.
That forced us to consider dates we didn't really want. When a membership is supposed to help you plan vacations, having to build the vacation around whatever happens to be available defeats much of the purpose.
Con Royal Holiday mi principal preocupación ahora son las cuotas que siguen acumulándose aunque no siempre podamos aprovechar la membresía como queremos. Al principio uno piensa en las vacaciones que podrá tomar, pero después empiezas a mirar el costo total con otros ojos.
Creo que muchas personas deberían hacer esa cuenta antes de comprar: cuánto pagarás durante varios años y cuántas veces realmente esperas utilizar el beneficio. Esa comparación puede cambiar bastante la perspectiva.
Royal Holiday me dejó bastante frustrado después de intentar reservar unas vacaciones con mucha anticipación. A pesar de planear con tiempo, las opciones que encontramos no coincidían con nuestras fechas y terminamos considerando otros métodos para hacer el viaje.
También creo que antes de comprar hay que investigar qué sucede si algún día quieres cancelar o transferir la membresía. Es fácil pensar solamente en las próximas vacaciones, pero un contrato así puede durar muchos años.

I tried to book a Royal Holiday trip well in advance because I assumed that would give us plenty of choices. Unfortunately, the dates that actually worked for our family weren't available, and changing the vacation wasn't really an option for us.

I tried to use my Royal Holiday membership for a trip that had been planned months in advance, and somehow we still ended up with very few useful options. The dates we actually needed weren't available, so we were offered alternatives that didn't work with our family's schedule.
What really made me question the value of the membership was finding comparable accommodations through regular travel websites while I was being told there was nothing suitable through the program. After paying membership costs year after year, that's a pretty difficult thing to accept.
