Royal Holiday doesn’t have the best reputation within the timeshare resorts. Most of their sales are done under high pressure sales tactics, a high number of  members at Royal Holiday feel like they have being lied and scam and most timeshare contracts are being misrepresented.

One of the most common scams at the moment of purchase is that Royal Holiday’s sales person will make you any verbal promise to get you to sign their contract, however the contract clearly states that any verbal promise made by the sales associated are invalid unless those promises are establish within the contract.

Royal Holiday promise one of the best customer service for their members, this only happens if the current member is calling to make a payment and if you have any questions or concerns about your membership the associated is more likely to tell you they will send you all the information over email, well sit thigh because this email will never arrived,  The most common answer to any unhappy member at Royal Holiday is to Upgrade your membership no matter what is that you are unhappy about and you end up paying more for a membership you weren’t happy to begin with.

Booking with Royal Holiday is another issue, at the sales’ pitch, they promise you can travel anywhere at any time you want. This is very untrue, it all depend what points you buy and unfortunate they will always sell you the small point package so at the time you realize you need more points, you will need to upgrade and pay even more money to them.

Most Royal Holiday’s Sales are done outdoors or other locations that aren’t Royal Holiday’s Sales office, as a “courtesy” from them, they will let you purchase and sign their contract at the spot, “hey! You wouldn’t miss the opportunity of a lifetime, right?” So by this the sales associated will briefly explain you the contract as their convenient, probably letting out important information to you. Some sales associated opt for sending all the documents to your home, mean while you enjoy of your holidays or vacations, by the time you get home and read careful the contract you realize your purchase is not what you though It was and even worse realize your recession period is over.

Royal Holiday sales associate tells you are doing a great investment in real estate, another huge lie, timeshare is not nor an investment or real estate, you are leasing a hotel room for a period of time once a year, and therefore you do not own the hotel. It is not an investment because there is not market for resale or renting out your unit therefore no profit.

I was scammed--deceived, defrauded and duped--at the Wyndham Nassau Resort in New Providence, Nassau, in March 2011. I want to express my extreme frustration with Royal Holiday Club's predatory sales practices. Since I was hoodwinked into signing a contract with this unethical company, I have been obliged to pay $220 per month and an annual fee in excess of $1, 000. In exchange I have received NO net benefits--I would have saved thousands and thousands of dollars by making travel arrangements myself for the one resort trip I did manage to work out with Royal Holiday Club. Including the inittial credit card payment of $15, 000, over the past two years I have been obliged to pay them a total of $20, 300.

We were told that we will be saving on airfare because they had their own Travel Agency, well not only they don’t have a Travel Agency, the Agency they suggested is just a “one more on the list” agency, that gave us pricing for airfare more expensive than what I got quoted from Travelocity. “What a joke!!!”. Also if I price our trip to Royal Holiday Cozumel, with the cost of all inclusive (and we are not big eaters or drinkers) it will cost us an outrageous amount just to try to use our credits going there, compare to a regular vacation with any other hotel.
We just don’t see any advantage of having a contract with RHC, and we travel at least 3 times a year, but you would have to plan your trip with what 3 or 4 years in advance and order to be lucky and get what you want.
I know their business is to get people rip off, but it is so un-human what they are doing, it makes me so angry the fact that there is NOONE you can’t talk to, they don’t care if you are starving, or about to loose your house, nothing, the only thing that matters is to get the maintenance fee paid off and that’s it. I guess the only way out is to suffer for 7 year with a bad credit record punish for a bad decision!!!

My wife & i bought into a Royal Elite Timeshare in Playa del Carmen. We stayed in sandos caracol resort & signed contract for royal elite. we've found out in the last few months that availiablity of resorts that we require are very limited (sales person shown us extensive range of hotels). flight deals are no better than booking myself. we enquired to stay lanzarote sandos dec 2012 the ai rate is in total $1900 for the week. i feel that this is going to be costly in the long run, not the ideal deal that was sold to us.

we paid for a timeshare $24000, since then we haven’t been able to use, unfortunately we always forget about the months when we have to transfer our credits, or the month when we have to call so they can rent our credits, we have tried two times to get something with them to no avail. It has been so frustrating, we definitely don’t want to pass this rip off of a business to our child, much less try to get a friend or someone we know to buy it from us, this is something you wouldn’t recommend to anyone. After consistent calls to request for information on how to cancel the contract, calls to customer service, financial advisors and you name it, we always get the same answer from all of them.. “You can’t cancel your contract, it will last for 30 years”. We are so fed up and tired of “Royal Holiday” and their well trained scammers. We want out and we want out now!!!
It has been the most stressful times of our lives!!!

We traveled to Cancun during the February break, we decided to look into a time share and we choose Park Royal Cancun. Under a high sales presssure we ended up agreeing to purchase a timeshare with them at the time someone had cloned my credit/ATM card in Mexico (for all I know it was the Park Royal people) and had taken $4000 in cash so we gave them a down payment of $300 we were to send the rest of the money after we came back to the states. We decided the next day to cancel and visited the hotel and at the entrance of the hotel we were told we had to fax or write to cancel. Since we were just beginning our vacation we figured we did that when we came back to the states, well we came back but unfortunately had to travel out of the country as we had a family sickness my mother in law was sick and never got to cancel the contract. Upon our return we tried to contact people in Cancun to get the information where to cancel and we do not seeem to get anywhere. Now we received emails, phone calls, bills from Park Royal on a a daily basis. They are threatening to send out infomation to the credit bureaus and collections. What do we do now?

The Royal Holiday is VERY NICE ... it's the timeshare salespeople that are aggressive in their practices and you can't take everything they say as a guarantee or promise.
