Background & Rebranding History
Punta Pacifico (originally marketed as Encanto Bahía fractional ownership) is a resort located in Mazatlán. While older online complaints frequently describe this property as "pre-construction" or "partially built," the physical resort is now fully completed and currently operates under the new name Diamond Bay Boutique Resort By Bloom.
However, the completion of the building does not erase the operator's troubling history. This property has undergone a clear pattern of rebranding to distance itself from negative publicity. Consumer advocates have traced its marketing names as follows:
La Jolla → Punta Pacifico / Encanto Bahía → Diamond Bay
Each name change appears to have been deployed strategically to shed a growing backlog of scam allegations, unresolved complaints, and poor reviews—while the underlying operator (Compañía Hotelera Nadia S.A. de C.V.) remains the same.
Persistent Complaints (Despite the Name Change)
Even though the resort is now finished and operating as Diamond Bay, the core complaints against this operator have not changed. Victims consistently report:
- High-pressure sales tactics using fake "resale guarantees" to push larger purchases.
- Unfulfilled rental promises, where owners are talked into renting back their weeks but never receive payment.
- Extreme booking unavailability, making it nearly impossible to secure desired dates.
Bottom Line: The name on the building has changed, and the construction is finished—but the sales tactics, legal violations, and consumer grievances remain identical. If you are considering any purchase, exchange, or rental involving this entity (under any of its names), proceed with extreme caution. Always verify your 5-day cancellation rights under Mexican law and refuse to sign any waiver that attempts to override them.

We are scammed by this company back in 2013 when it was called La Jolla. We have bee contacted by a "firm" saying they have been appointed by the P.G.R. to help receive some of our money back. Is this legit? This is what the message states:
Asesoría Juridica Bayardos is the entity appointed by P.G.R. to filter and conduct investigation on all victimized foreign vacation investment owners and present them to CONDUSEF for restitution. P.G.R. in conjunction with CONDUSEF have seized a number of financial accounts and real estate assets amounting in millions of dollars from a number of “Resort Marketing and Timeshare” call centers and scam offices involved in fraudulent transactions within the timeshare industry. We have attained catalogues with hundreds of unaware parties’ names that were violated through these fraudulent activities.
It is unfortunate that we found your name and basic information through the attained catalogues. It has been confirmed that you may be eligible for restitution based on the information that was seized by P.G.R. At this time it is not known what dollar value you are privy to. We will need to instruct our verification department through allegation forms so that we have authority to initiate a formal complaint to be approved for restitution. We require your return documentation to move forward.
We bought in 2008 when it was La Jolla and stayed away 2 years as they asked us so they could make more sales and we never got compensated like they said they would. We let it go as it was not that important to us. In 2013 we bought more points so we would have a longer holiday so, so far, we have quite a bit of money invested. When it was time to book some weeks, I could not get in touch with them; they had changed name and email. I finally found them and booked. That was two years ago. For over a yearnow, I have been trying to book but I get no response. They are ignoring me. I found out that they changed name again and they are still advertising on many sites. How can they get away with that. I don't know what to do! How can we tell people to stay away from this place?
Hola Carlos, donde podemos localizar a estas personas?
Yo les puedo ayudar a localizar a las personas q fueron los vendedores a vladimir y alfredo marcq
We were scammed into buying and "trading" our other timeshare package the same way in 2011. We even have signed contracts (revised twice), promising they'd pay back. After years of communicating through different channels, we got part of the $10,000 back and now they won't reply to emails or answer phone calls. What a bunch of lairs! Robbing money out of hard working people knowing that they are hard to reach from abroad. We do need to take class actions!
