Punta Pacifico o Encanto Bahía is a small, relatively new resort in Mazatlan, Mexico. It is only partially built, and they are selling units on a pre-construction basis. The clients often complain about their lack of compliance with the 5 day cancellation policy and their lack of availability to book when they want to use it. They also use rental and resale scams to increase their sales.
Common Complaints:
- Salesperson claims that they prefer if the client does not use the timeshare week. Punta Pacifico o Encanto Bahía offers to pay the client a high rental price per week for the next five years to not stay at that particular resort because they wanted to keep as many units available as possible to have enough rooms available for other prospective buyers who might come to view the property.
- Punta Pacifico o Encanto Bahía uses resale agents that guarantee the sale of an old timeshare within a 90-120 day period. They promise high resale prices, so that they can induce buyers into purchasing larger amounts for their Punta Pacifico/ENcanto Bahía timeshare package.
- Have clients sign a Cardholders Acknowledgement that states "I realize and understand that the earnest money deposit I have credited towards my purchase contract is non-cancellable and non-refundable, as my purchase agreement has no provisions for a rescission period." This statement is in opposition to the 5 day rescission period allowed by Mexican Law.

Residence Club LaJolla Mazatlan is the definition of fraud. When my wife and I saw their presentation we got to the part where they [Premier Vacations i.e.LaJolla's marketing group] ask if we wanted to buy.We told them we just did not have $15,000. Then we were told that there was a way we could get involved and help out the resort at the same time. Because of the size of the resort they did not have the same volume of rooms to market like the big hotels and resorts and if we would sign up and then do what was called a rental return we would receive $1,000usd for each week we returned to them during the next 5 years so they could market to more people. Like all the other complaints you have read on this site we never saw a dime. Fraud is the only way to put it. In the process of trying to get this resolved I was informed that Premier Vacations is no longer affiliated with LaJolla and what ever Premier promised that has nothing to do with LaJolla.

La Jolla have been so successful in scamming US and Canadian citizens out of their savings that they have opened up a new facility in Mazatlan called Villamar and moved several of their most successful scam artists over the Villamar (Vladimar and Carlos). Why the US and Canadian governments do not intervene and stop this fraud and deception I will never understand. The La Jolla group do not discriminate in terms of which age group they scam as I recently witnessed as they abused an elderly couple who were reluctant to sign a contract during a La Jolla presentation. Be a pioneer about it; be brave. Get the word out.
We were scammed by La Jolla, Mazatlan, we also know others that were scammed and havent done anything about it yet. We wento to resolve this, only to be told we needed to give them more money they changed to points er ???
I was lied to by salesman Brad Johnson in selling a membership to GCR at Club LaJolla in Mazatlan, MX. I was told that my membership would include airfare, which was a lie. It isn't until returning home and I received my password that I discovered he lied to me. They call it "misunderstanding", but I went through several examples of how I can use weeks for airfare (up to $600.00) just to make sure i did understand. Good honest people, like myself, have no idea that they have been scammed by a fellow American, who has no conscience about taking money from unsuspecting people. I spent $2,000 USD on a service I can't ever use without airfare.
I am cancelling our contract at La Jolla, Mazatlan, purchased on February 8, 2012. This contract was signed by Joan Beisel and Philip Banyon.
It is within 5 days of our right to cancel this contract.
Please be informed that his is our official letter to rescind the contract.
We bought at Lajolla and everything they told us is a lie. They said no maintainance fees and that we could reserve at the resort and they would take another time share in trade. None true.
