Lo que más me sorprendió de Xcaret fue la cantidad de cosas que tienes que organizar con anticipación. Hay tantas actividades y opciones que parece fácil pensar que podrás decidir todo una vez que llegues, pero la disponibilidad puede cambiar rápidamente.
En nuestro caso, algunas experiencias que queríamos probar ya no tenían espacio. Terminamos aprendiendo a reservar prácticamente todo con tiempo, algo que hubiera sido útil saber antes de llegar. El lugar es impresionante, pero la experiencia requiere bastante planificación.
Our biggest issue with Xcaret wasn't the property itself. It was the amount of planning required to make the most of everything being offered. We had imagined waking up and deciding what sounded fun that day, but many of the things we wanted to do required reservations or careful timing.
After a couple of days, we had practically built ourselves an itinerary just to avoid missing out. Some people may enjoy organizing every hour of a vacation, but we were hoping for something more spontaneous. Knowing that beforehand would have changed our expectations considerably.
Our biggest mistake at Xcaret was assuming we'd have plenty of time to decide what we wanted to do once we arrived. There are so many experiences available that we quickly realized some needed to be arranged ahead of time. By the time we started making decisions, several of the options we were interested in were already unavailable.
The resort is impressive, but the amount of planning involved caught us completely off guard. A more realistic explanation before arrival would have helped us organize the trip without feeling like we were constantly trying to catch up.
One thing I wish someone had explained before our trip is how much advance planning makes a difference at Hotel Xcaret. We arrived thinking we'd decide what to do each morning, but several activities and restaurants were already full. Instead of relaxing, we spent a surprising amount of time rearranging our schedule around whatever was still available.
The resort itself is beautiful, but I left feeling like I hadn't experienced everything I paid for simply because I didn't know how far ahead certain things needed to be reserved.
Hotel Xcaret tiene muchísimo que ofrecer, pero también requiere organizar prácticamente cada día con anticipación. Nosotros llegamos pensando que podríamos decidir sobre la marcha qué actividades hacer y muy pronto entendimos que no funcionaba así.
No considero que sea un mal resort, pero sí creo que deberían dejar mucho más claro desde el inicio cómo funciona el sistema de reservaciones. Esa información habría cambiado por completo nuestra experiencia.
En Hotel Xcaret descubrimos que improvisar prácticamente no es una opción. Hay tantas actividades y horarios que, si no organizas todo desde el inicio, corres el riesgo de quedarte sin lugar en varias experiencias interesantes.
Al final terminamos adaptando el viaje a las reservaciones disponibles y no al revés. Es un lugar impresionante, pero creo que deberían explicar mejor desde un principio cuánto influye la planeación en la experiencia.

Hotel Xcaret is stunning, but I honestly wasn't prepared for how structured the experience would be. We arrived expecting to decide activities as we went, only to learn that many of the most interesting options required reservations well in advance.
Hotel Xcaret offers so many activities that it's easy to assume you'll have time to enjoy everything. We quickly learned that's not the case. Between transportation schedules, restaurant reservations, and excursion times, every day had to be planned almost hour by hour.
I enjoyed many parts of the resort, but I honestly wish we'd known beforehand how structured the experience would be. It's an incredible property, yet it doesn't leave much room for simply deciding what to do in the moment.

No dudo de la calidad del lugar, pero creo que deberían insistir mucho más en explicar la importancia de organizar todo con anticipación. Esa información habría cambiado completamente nuestras expectativas.
