Common Complaints:
- Salespeople offer clients false promises of discounts on airfares, cruises, car rentals etc.
- Salespeople claim that the points have more value than they actually do for exchange purposes.
- Clients are sent the full contract on a CD to their home address. They do not receive a full copy to review and decide whether or not they want to cancel within the 5 day rescission period allowed by Mexican Law.
- Salespeople offer to resell a previously owned timeshare or take it over in trade so that the client is only responsible for the maintenance fees for the new timeshare. This never happens.

Compre en Abril una membresia en el Cid Ventus Resort de Puerto Morelos, con engaños después de leer todo el contrato 27 hojas x los 2 lados me di cuenta del error cometido, no me hacen caso de mi cancelación que he solicitado telefónicamente, ni me dan datos de a quien va dirigido el escrito y me siguen descontando un dineral, llegué a la conclusión de cancelar mis tarjetas para que dejaran de cobrarme, pero necesito cancelar para q no me manden a Buró de crédito
I have been with El Cid since 2014. Everytime I go to Cancun they attempt to get more money from me. This past February (2024) they pressured me until I caved to get me to sign up for additional contract. I have had medical issues and kept telling them that I was no healthy and needed to keep my funds for personal/medical reasons. They kept me in their office for 8+hours until I finally couldn't take it anymore.
Since that time I have had emergent open heart surgery, 2 bouts of pneumonia and lung issues as well as high blood pressure. I want to cancel the contract, however it states in there that the only way to cancel is to DIE. Well, I guess they will get their wish. They also wanted me to include my son's name, however I stated NO WAY. He should not be burdened with this type of scamming.

Trying to cancel my El Cid timeshare has been an absolute nightmare. The process is intentionally convoluted, with excessive paperwork and unclear procedures. It feels like they make it deliberately difficult to discourage members from leaving.
Their customer service is practically non-existent when it comes to helping with cancellations. Emails go unanswered, and phone calls result in endless hold times or being transferred from one department to another without resolution. It's incredibly frustrating and shows a lack of care for their members.
My experience with El Cid timeshare has been incredibly disappointing, and I believe it's important to share my story amidst the numerous El Cid Timeshare Complaints. The sales process was aggressive, with promises that failed to materialize once I signed the contract.
Attempting to resolve issues with their customer service has been frustratingly futile. They seem uninterested in addressing legitimate concerns, often providing vague responses or outright ignoring requests for assistance. It's evident they prioritize sales over customer satisfaction.
I caution anyone considering an El Cid timeshare to proceed with extreme caution. The lack of transparency and accountability is concerning, and I regret ever entering into an agreement with them. Potential buyers should thoroughly research and consider alternatives before committing to avoid the disappointment and financial strain that I've experienced.
I have had an incredibly disappointing experience with El Cid Vacation Club, and I feel compelled to share my story in light of the ongoing El Cid Vacation Club lawsuit. The entire process, from the high-pressure sales tactics to the unfulfilled promises, has been nothing short of a nightmare.
They made extravagant claims about the benefits and flexibility of the membership, which turned out to be grossly exaggerated. Once I signed the contract, it became clear that I had been misled. Attempts to get any help or resolution from their customer service have been futile. They consistently avoid addressing my concerns, and I have received nothing but unhelpful responses and endless delays.
The lawsuit against them does not surprise me in the least, as my experience aligns with the numerous complaints and issues other members have faced. I strongly advise anyone considering joining El Cid Vacation Club to reconsider. The stress, frustration, and financial loss are simply not worth it. This company needs to be held accountable for its deceptive practices and poor customer service.
We've been members for 9 years now. Things started off ok, but every year they take away more and more benefits. A member does not get anything that a regular hotel guest received. Do not buy into this resort. They treat their members very, very, very poorly.
We signed a contract in January 2020,one day after signing the contract we returned to sales office to rescind this contract. We were told their would be a penalty to cancel all thought article 56 of Mexican Law allow you 5 days to rescind a contract. El Cid kept $1809 of our deposit. If article 56 does not apply to El Cid this should be written into El Cid's
contract. So we will know El Cid is above Mexican Law and has special privileges.
EL CID Vacation. I was lied to so badly. The fees are not what they said they never gave us a copy of the signed paperwork. The person that was having us sign held the paper under a plastic wall so we couldn't even read it she kept saying it was Athrio who offered you. We went down the next day to cancel due to not having anything to show what we signed he stated they only email the paperwork. They also stated they were taking over our old timeshare and again that was not the case. We put 1650 down my husband asked if we decided we don't want this can we get out money back and her statement was no when you leave my office you lose that money because like you were told you can cancel at any time but you will lose this money so we wrote a letter when we got back to the states due to us finally being able to see that contact and it was not anything they said it was. We were told you can cancel after you finish paying the 4950.
