  •  Clients are sent the full contract on a CD to their home address. They do not receive a full copy to review and decide whether or not they want to cancel within the 5 day rescission period allowed by Mexican Law.
  • Salespeople offer to resell a previously owned timeshare or take it over in trade so that the client is only responsible for the maintenance fees for the new timeshare. This never happens.

Yo también me dejé convencer, lo tomé en abril de este año y mis derechos empiezan hasta Octubre , firmé el contrato y ahora no puedo pagarlo porque es en dólares, no se como hacer para cancelarlo sin dañarme económicamente.

Went to a presentation in Cancun based on a promise that I will get my car rental fee back , a free breakfast, and my 20 dollar deposit back, if I go and "see the hotel". So here are the facts. I got a free breakfast and it was good, except I was eating it with a sales guy sitting next to me. Then I did have to attend 3 hour tour which was telling me that this is a 5 star place, but I could tell it was at best 3 start establishment. Then the pressure started in a presentation room with very loud music and the sales guy yelling how great they are. We said we are not interested, but they would not take no for an answer. I was then visited by a supervisor that looked more like an enforcer and he kept asking why aren't we going to go for the deal (which was outrageous, they wanted 5K up front, and more money every month). After we said no again, we got a "developer" representative, and again we said no. Each person we saw was ruder to us, and abrupt and very unpleasant. Finally they said
“get out of here, go get your money”. And then I was sent to 3 different people and I DID get my money that was promised, but let me tell you right now it was definitely, definitely not worth the hustle. Please avoid the '"free breakfast and money back" tricks, you will end up with a ruined day, and it will make you upset.
