timeshare purchase since they said I could recover my money through the sales of the timeshare weeks with Sierra rental company. Sierra rental company has never called my regarding the rental weeks bieng sold and their number has changed each year. Also when they did call they tried to upgrade my membership crazy. Plus maintenance fees always go up each year.
Wow....We have experienced the same type of issues with El Cid as most of the testimonies read; not following through on promises of contract, maintenance fees continuing to rise annually, reported to a collection agency.
Hi, i have a memership with el cid, for 113,000 points. I have paid over 7500.00 over a period of 3 years. I have not use any of my points and dont intent to use them since i was misleading and lie to.
We came to Cozumel island, Mexico for a vacation. At the airport we were offered a free car rental valued at $500 for “visiting a new Hotel El Cid in Puerto Morelos, Mexico”. We were told that this is a new hotel, and they want us to check it out, so we will stay there in the future. There was no mentioning of timeshares or timepoints during the free car rental offer. When we visited the hotel we were given a presentation about timepoints, hotel tour and an offer to sing a contract. We were not well prepared for the offer and did not even have reading glasses to read it carefully. The verbal offer looked good and we signed the contract and paid a down payment of $8000. After returning back from the vacation to USA, we had read the contract closely to find many differences between the verbal offer given to us.
We purchased a time share with El Cid Mazatlan when we were there in March 2011 where we signed a contract with them with an adendum, two resale documents signed by them and by us, that they would sell our two timeshares and we would purchase their time share. Our time shares were to be sold for a certain amount both within a time-frame. The time-frames have passed and as such, we contacted El Cid and stated that we now consider our time-share with them null and void. They are not allowing us out of our contract, we still have our two time-shares and they now have an American debt collector after us.
