Common Complaints:
- Salesperson promises to buy back the timeshare at a better price should the client ever decide that they no longer want to use it.
- Salesperson promises that they can rent out their weeks for over 4 times the price of the maintenance fee. They can choose to use some weeks and rent others so that they have free vacations, or rent them all so that they can pay off their membership quicker. The clients are referred to a rental company that charges them a listing fee to market the property and does not rent any weeks.
- In the presentation, they claim that the all-inclusive is for corporate weeks only, and for regular weeks they can choose whether or not to pay for the all-inclusive. In reality, all-inclusive is mandatory for usage at all their Cancun locations.

I was also scam out of close to 9,000 CD, which was taken as down payment, back in 2009 and it took until 2011 for PROFECO, a Mexican Government Agency to cancel my contract with Sunset, free of charge. Sunset stil mange to stole our down payment. i under stand what everybody who was scamed by Sunset is going through. I did try to cancel the contract after the second day of signing it. i went back to the office where we signed the contract and talked to the manager in charge at that day. We were told that we could not cancel the contract because we have signed a letter which was written only in spanish and which was the only one of which we did not get any copy of, in which we had given away all our right s to cancel the contract, even thought, the contract stipulated that we could cancel the contract withing 5 days, and literately pushed us out of the office. Intimidation, powerless, desperation and anger staid with me until 2012 when i was able to pay for the money sunset stole from me and my family. Don't let them do that to you, google them before you sign any contract.

Es uno de los resorts mas fraudulentos, me dijeron que podria cancelar despues si lo deseaba o que ellos comprarian de nuevo mi tiempo compartido, y no fue asi, ahora tengo problemas con eso!!!! Ayuda!!!
I am so mental stressed because of this I cant eat and I sleep little over being cheated and losing so much money.
They are not allowing us out of our contract, we still have our two time-shares and they now have an American debt collector after us.
Compramos hace poco mas de un año y esramos decepcionados es pura sacadera de dinero y mentiras hemos pagado mas de 7000 dls ydebemos aprox pesos 12000 ,mas mantenimientos anuales de 640 dls T I de 90 dls diarios por persona en la estancia y si queremos t cambiar destino debemos comprar otra membresia .es un gran fraude queremos cancelar y recuperar nuestra inversion

My wife and I are so angry at the manager in the building and couldn't be more insulting. We just want to let other people know, who are curious about this company, as we feel the 3 hours as a 1-on-1 tour was very intense indeed. Although the customer service was good from the gentleman serving us, we could not believe how awfully rude his manager was. I would hate anybody to experience this.
