Pueblo Bonito Fractional Ownership: Resorts, Locations, and Common Complaints

In this section, you will find valuable information about Pueblo Bonito’s fractional ownership business. If you are thinking about buying a timeshare at Pueblo Bonito resorts, or if you have already closed a deal, there is content on important review sites where people share their opinions about their timeshare-buying experiences at various resorts, including Pueblo Bonito membership reviews on those same sites.

Pueblo Bonito Resort Portfolio
Pueblo Bonito is a Mexican hospitality group founded in 1994, with its first resort opening in 1987. Its holding company, Blazki, operates brands such as Pueblo Bonito, Emerald Bay, Sunset Beach, Montecristo, Novaispania, Copala, and Coronado.

Today, Pueblo Bonito operates nine luxury resorts in Los Cabos and Mazatlán, plus two Pueblo Bonito Vantage properties in San Miguel de Allende and Mazatlán’s Centro Histórico.

Los Cabos: Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, The Towers at Pacifica, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort, Montecristo Estates Luxury Villas, Pueblo Bonito Rosé Resort & Spa, and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort.

Mazatlán: Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Estates Luxury Villas, and Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán Beach Resort.

Pueblo Bonito Vantage: Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende, a 111-room property in the Distrito Corazón area, and Pueblo Bonito Vantage Centro Histórico Mazatlán, a 24-room retreat inside a restored 19th-century building.

Quivira Los Cabos and Copala
Quivira Los Cabos is an 1,850-acre master-planned residential and resort community in Cabo San Lucas, developed by Pueblo Bonito founder Ernesto Coppel. It contains several residential communities, including Montecristo Estates, Copala Residences, Coronado Residences, Alvar, and Old Lighthouse Club, as well as the Jack Nicklaus-designed Quivira Golf Club.

Copala is a gated, full-ownership community within Quivira. It features colonial hacienda-style condominiums and townhomes, along with access to the Copala Club House and other Quivira amenities. Copala owners also receive discounts at Pueblo Bonito resorts, including reduced rates on dining, spa treatments, and golf.

This distinction matters because Pueblo Bonito operates both full-ownership real estate and fractional/timeshare products. Buyers should understand which type of ownership they are being offered.

Fractional Ownership and Timeshare Details
Montecristo Estates, Emerald Estates, and Novaispania Residences offer fractional ownership options. Novaispania Residences is described as the most luxurious fractional opportunity, featuring a 10-acre residential community with 28 home sites and 1,200 Pueblo Bonito Universal Points each year.

Access to other Pueblo Bonito resorts depends on your ownership level, so owners should refer to their ownership information to confirm eligibility.

Common Complaints and Reviews
Despite the company’s prestigious portfolio, when it comes to Pueblo Bonito fractional ownership (Pueblo Bonito Travel Club), selling it is not as good as the company claims its treatment of guests is, as seen in recent Pueblo Bonito timeshare reviews and common complaints.

Common complaints include:

  • A salesperson has the client sign a waiver giving up their five-day right to cancel, claiming it is a special one-day-only offer. This is illegal in Mexico.
  • A salesperson promises to sell the client’s old timeshare to offset the cost of the new timeshare. In the end, the client is referred to a resale company that does not sell the old timeshare, and the client is stuck with two timeshares and the maintenance fees for both properties.
  • Complaints about Concord Pueblo Bonito and Pueblo Bonito Travel Club.

Reviews also mention Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, including problems with membership updates that clients say do not benefit them.

Online Pueblo Bonito Travel Club reviews and the complaints above show that the scam problem is growing. Much of this happens in Mexico, where salespeople exploit foreigners’ and tourists’ limited knowledge of local law while they are on vacation. Similar issues are reported at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, including poor management and unpleasant staff after guests reject timeshare invitations.

If you are considering fractional ownership, work with legitimate companies and stay alert. Check the seller’s background online, and be suspicious of anyone asking for an upfront fee; trustworthy deals are handled like real estate transactions.

I really don't like timeshares for all that reasons. I've never bought a timeshare but a friend of mine did. He was excited with all the things the salesman said him, but the enchanted was over when he went to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach 2 years ago and he realized that all was a lie. He was so unhappy and he's still payin for the maintenance.

The Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan "RCI GOLD CROWN " has dropped its trading power with RCI fro 19 when I bought it to 12. I have traded all over the world sine 1992 with this property and now I could not get a DOG HOUSE fro what it is I am now paying more for the maintenance fees than I could rent it for. If I want to trade back into the property I could not even do it because of the low trade value. RCI is not going to get another trade from me ! Interval has alot better deal !

We bought a time share from PB-Emerald Bay back in 2006/07(not sure). I was very scared. But I have to say I have been extremely pleased. We got a great deal on it. We use it every other year. We bank every other year so that we have two rooms to bring the in-laws or friends. We have traded easily to Riviera Maya and Cabo. We have never had any issues. I really enjoy because it forces us to take a nice family vacation to a warm area every other Spring.

PUEBLO BONITO EMERALD BAY (like Sunset) offers the biggest scam to people who already own a timeshare elsewhere. They promise and guarantee that Resort Connections (aka Carrion Travel) will sell your other resort (for an additional fee, of course). They won't and you won't be able to reach them to get your refundable fee back. We were stupid to fall for this scam despite such sincerity and nonpressure by the sales people at Pueblo Bonito. Don't fall for it. Where else can the truths about these scams be posted? What social media venues are available (no worries Pueblo Bonito, we'll find them)? I don't want to put the timeshare out of business (after all, I own there), I just want to my money back! Can't wait to go there and start talking about how I got scammed to all the potential buyers on the beach.

We were scammed by Dirk Meyer. We were told we were getting a foreclosure deal which is worth twice as much as we paid for. He told us if we were to sell it in two years we would double our money. He told us our presidential suite was worth $6000/week and we would have no problem renting it out. A total lie when we returned.

When we returned we discovered the bonus week was a lie. They switched the paper work on us. They gave us something else (premier weeks) instead of bonus weeks at the resort.

We want to cancel due to misrepresentation and Dirk is refusing. What do we do?
They charged us $7000. We want to get a lawyer in a Cabo to sue them. Any other suggestions? Can we do anything together?

The only advice I can give is - do not buy, do not rent, and do not go. Pass the word until it hurts them and they will change their ways - there are plenty of other good resorts and you can rent on line. I'm an owner at PSSB and the food is not good, they are not honest, and it is a shame, because they could do a lot better if they were honest. If you want a timeshare - research them very carefully before you buy.

I stayed at Pueblo Bonito and got sucked into buying a timeshare for their Novoespania. Like everyone here, I was promised all the good stuff they can come up with and of course after I got back home to the US, I realized that I was scammed. Immediately called back my salesman Mark Biddle and Eddy Childers who are nboth crooks and was given the run around. Tried their customer service manager as well Alfredo Ramirez with no luck to try and cancel my contract and get my deposit back. Mind you I did it within the 5 day grace period for buyers to change their mind. I was so mad but that did not do anything. So next thing I did is I hire the services of an excellent lawyer in Cabo that I got from the Tijuana consulate list and in a week got my contract cancelled, depsosit returned, and the note on the loan which will be activated if I did not pay the remaining balance in 60 days cancelled. In a few months, they will realize that they screwed with the wrong person because in the next few weeks I will begin the process of destroying their business. So everyone here who have been wronged by this company will have their payback and that is a guarantee.

I went to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in 2006 with a friend. She wanted to buy into the timeshare in the worst way. Since I already owned TWO timeshares I did not want to. They told us not to worry that they would sell my first timeshare which would give me the money to cover my cost with this one. Of course that never happened. My friend lost her job shortly thereafter so her plan to 'buy me out' never materialized. I lost my job in 2009 and I'm stuck paying for the maintenance fees on three timeshares that I can't use and can't afford to pay maintenance fees on them. It is a beautiful resort but they rent out their rooms to the public for less than what we pay in maintenance fees so there is no market to sell or rent. The entire industry is a SCAM. Avoid it like the plague.

we were promised if we purchased at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach that they would rent the unit every year at a profit to us they have not nor will they. we have quit paying them and they turned our account over to a collection agency for $14000 . What can we do?

Got scammed by this place like everyone else. Told the same bunch of bs about renting extra weeks, how great the trading power is, how easy it is to make a reservation... blah, blah, blah. Finding out NONE of that is true! Looked at what we signed. We got a stupid biannual studio unit worth 50 points on RCI. Not only is it impossible to make a reservation at this place to use the thing, but 50 points on RCI is worth nothing. The only saving grace is that we did not transfer the deed on the timeshare we were trading for this worthless piece of crap. Now we are filing bankruptcy and are including the scam timeshare from Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach on it. I guess that is the only way to get out of it. BUNCH OF THIEVING LIARS!!!! I feel for any of you who went to the stupid presentation, got loaded up on drinks and the bs the unethical "salesperson" (I think robber is more appropriate) spewed at you. Avoid this place like the plague!!!
