Royal Holiday does not have the best reputation among timeshare resorts. Most of their sales are conducted using high-pressure tactics, and a significant number of members feel they have been lied to or scammed. Many timeshare contracts are also misrepresented during the sales process.
One of the most common scams occurs at the time of purchase: a Royal Holiday salesperson will make verbal promises to get you to sign the contract. However, the contract clearly states that any verbal promises made by the sales associate are invalid unless they are explicitly included in the written agreement.
Royal Holiday promises excellent customer service to its members, but this only seems to apply when members call to make a payment. If you have questions or concerns about your membership, the associate will likely say they will send you the information via email—but that email never arrives. The most common response to any unhappy member is to suggest an upgrade, regardless of the issue. As a result, members often end up paying even more for a membership they were never satisfied with in the first place.
Booking with Royal Holiday presents another challenge. During the sales pitch, they promise you can travel anywhere, at any time. This is far from the truth. Your travel options depend entirely on the points you purchase, and unfortunately, they almost always sell you a small points package. By the time you realize you need more points, you're forced to upgrade and pay additional fees.
Most Royal Holiday sales are conducted outdoors or at locations other than their official sales offices. As a "courtesy," they allow you to purchase and sign the contract on the spot, with the salesperson briefly explaining the terms—often omitting important details. Some associates even send the documents to your home while you're still on vacation. By the time you return home and carefully read the contract, you realize it’s not what you thought it was—and worse, your recession period has already expired.
Royal Holiday sales associates may also tell you that you're making a great investment in real estate. This is another major lie. A timeshare is neither an investment nor real estate. You are simply leasing a hotel room for a set period once a year; you do not own the property. It is not an investment because there is no resale market or rental opportunity, meaning there is no potential for profit.

Is a Royal Holiday membership worth it?

After 5 hours of brutal pressure, we were conned into purchasing a timeshare. However, we were told one thing and then our salesperson gave us an every other year option instead and failed to mention that all those lovely other perks didn't come with the every other year contract. We were also told that since we were in Mexico there was no law regarding a 48 hour cancellation option. Now we find out that we had five days to cancel it.

yo no se porque piensan que royal holiday es lo mejor es viejo, sin renovarse, sus cuartos hiper antiguos que huelen a neftalina de lo viejos que estan,tiene los muebles de cuando abrieron jejeje muy mala experiencia, no lo recomiendo para nada!! cuidado con ellos
Rooms were nice but cleanliness wasn't at all. Our bed got changed once and that was the night before we left...very pointless!!! The maid seem to do what was the basic cleaning like changing towels etc and I think our room got swept twice in our stay. Another thing that makes your vacation terrible: timeshare presentations! They are a really hedeache. I would never stay there again
SIGUE MI CONSEJO Y SI TIENES UN ENEMIGO EN LA VIDA , RECOMIENDALE ROYAL HOLIDAY... COMPROBARAS QUE LE HAS ARRUINADO LA VIDA POR LOS PROXIMOS 30 AÑOS JAJAJAJAJAJA .. NUNCA HAY DISPONIBILIDAD , TARIFAS DE MANTENIMIENTO EN DOLARES, CADA AÑO SUBEN, ALL INCLUSIVE OBLIGATORIO Y HOTELES VIEJOS.. Y SUCIOS
Gracias por sus comentarios, me ofrecieron y me ilustraron las mil maravillas , pero me pareció todo tan sospechoso son un grupo de estafadores dentro de la ley o sea estafan a la gente pero todo dentro de lo legal, tu firmas y estas condenado a pagar , gracias a Dios que no firme....son unos charlatanes.....
me muero de coraje!!! este es el peor resort de todos, cuando recien fuimos a la presentacion nos trataron como reyes, pero una vez caimos en su trampa y en su maldita estafa, hasta parecia que les molestaba que hicieramos uso de nuestro tiempo compartido porque nos trataban horrible, ademas el cuarto sucio, y si les deciamos algo, nos hacian mala cara!!! que horror!!!
my husband and i we acquire a timeshare here, were very happy, we enjoy a lot our space, with the pass of the years for personal reasons we couldnt pay the maintenance fees for about 2 months, only 2 months,by consequence the offices of our timeshare started to press us saying that if we dont pay at time our timeshare would be transfered to a juridical ways , losing all our investment and another bad things..so we decide to cancel it.
We have the absolute legal right to seek assistance, they are accustomed to taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers and we are just trying to level the playing field and get someone who know what they're talking about.
When I tried to reserve a vacation I discovered that I have to wait 40-45 days before I reserve a vacation to see if any hotel has a vacancy and then I can go. Meaning that if I want to go for ex. to Cancun I have to wait until there is any vacancy and I can't find then the expiration date end and I can't go any more. Also when you are working you can't take vacation whenever you want.
