Royal Holiday does not have the best reputation among timeshare resorts. Most of their sales are conducted using high-pressure tactics, and a significant number of members feel they have been lied to or scammed. Many timeshare contracts are also misrepresented during the sales process.
One of the most common scams occurs at the time of purchase: a Royal Holiday salesperson will make verbal promises to get you to sign the contract. However, the contract clearly states that any verbal promises made by the sales associate are invalid unless they are explicitly included in the written agreement.
Royal Holiday promises excellent customer service to its members, but this only seems to apply when members call to make a payment. If you have questions or concerns about your membership, the associate will likely say they will send you the information via email—but that email never arrives. The most common response to any unhappy member is to suggest an upgrade, regardless of the issue. As a result, members often end up paying even more for a membership they were never satisfied with in the first place.
Booking with Royal Holiday presents another challenge. During the sales pitch, they promise you can travel anywhere, at any time. This is far from the truth. Your travel options depend entirely on the points you purchase, and unfortunately, they almost always sell you a small points package. By the time you realize you need more points, you're forced to upgrade and pay additional fees.
Most Royal Holiday sales are conducted outdoors or at locations other than their official sales offices. As a "courtesy," they allow you to purchase and sign the contract on the spot, with the salesperson briefly explaining the terms—often omitting important details. Some associates even send the documents to your home while you're still on vacation. By the time you return home and carefully read the contract, you realize it’s not what you thought it was—and worse, your recession period has already expired.
Royal Holiday sales associates may also tell you that you're making a great investment in real estate. This is another major lie. A timeshare is neither an investment nor real estate. You are simply leasing a hotel room for a set period once a year; you do not own the property. It is not an investment because there is no resale market or rental opportunity, meaning there is no potential for profit.

Mi nombre es SILVANA hace 4 meses hice un contrato con royal holliday , y recien veo la página ésta y me quiere dar un ataque , nunca lo use por que anu no he cancelado el año para usarlo, me gustaria saber , si alguien de uds lo uso, haciendo algun viaje , que me cuente ,por favor muchas gracias.
We signed up for a membership that had so little points that we could only go to three places in their catalog. I sent the cancellation letter and they verified that they received it, yet they have not refunded the money we paid in. By their own contract they are required to refund the money within 15 business days, but they are not cooperating and now will not respond to my e-mails, although I got five e-mails a day when they were trying to convince me to purchase another plan. If anybody wants to get together for a class action law suit, I would be delighted to be a part of it.
Te felicito por no dejarte engañar, y por tener la paciencia para cancelarles, sin embargo no dejes de revisar el asunto en unas semanas/meses para que no te salgan con una sorpresa.
Tambien en mi caso mas de 2 ocasiones me han hablado, con la misma historia de que salí sorteado y me gane un premio, generalmente algo llamativo como una cámara digital, reproductor mp3, etc. Y que tengo que pasar por el, la cita al igual en un lugar de “renombre” como hotel, u oficinas (obvio temporales) en alguna de las mejores colonias de la ciudad, como para darte la apariencia que es un negocio establecido.
En fin, sospechando algo les dije que solo estaba dispuesto a pasar por el regalo y retirarme, lo cual obviamente no les gusto, me pedían unos 30 mins de mi tiempo, estaba pensando presentarme con oídos sordos a sus ofertas y solo para recoger el regalo, pero el colmo fue que era requisito indispensable el ir acompañado de mi esposa, a lo cual dije que no sería posible, y les di las gracias, no sin escuchar que la persona se ofendió por rechazar el regalo y tan valiosa oferta.
Estos son el tipo de empresas que compran aquellas bases de datos que se venden en el mercado negro, porque no hay otra explicación que tuvieran tanto detalle mio.

Hi there, yes my husband and I are one of the many that were pressured into buying a time share in Mexico. We are really struggling and can't afford this at all. I just want it gone. They lied to us regarding when we could book. everytime I've called the dates we want are booked. We cannot afford to waste our money any longer. We need help!
I purchased my timeshare from Royal Holiday club in 2009, and tried to get out of it immediately.....I was told there was no recension period.But I just read your articles and I noticed that all was a lie.

Contrato con Royal Holiday Club desde hace mas de 15 años, deseo donarlo ya que no deseo utilizarlo bajo la modalidad de "All Inclusive", soy pensionado y no tengo otros ingresos,es un gasto alto para mi el cual no puedo solventar, he leido que donarlo es imposible y con las rentas ya intente y gaste mas dinero del que tenia y no consegui nada, me urge saber como cancelar este contrato y dejar de estar haciendo pagos inecesarios que no tengo dinero ni para darme el gusto de vacacionar.
I to have been tricked into my contract that I can not get out of . I want to get a group of us together and file a class action suite agianst Royal Holiday . It would be nice to freeze their assets for years and not pay the yearly fees ,maintance , or timeshare sales. Let's pull together and get a lawyer after them and get our money back.!!!!
