Royal Holiday does not have the best reputation among timeshare resorts. Most of their sales are conducted using high-pressure tactics, and a significant number of members feel they have been lied to or scammed. Many timeshare contracts are also misrepresented during the sales process.
One of the most common scams occurs at the time of purchase: a Royal Holiday salesperson will make verbal promises to get you to sign the contract. However, the contract clearly states that any verbal promises made by the sales associate are invalid unless they are explicitly included in the written agreement.
Royal Holiday promises excellent customer service to its members, but this only seems to apply when members call to make a payment. If you have questions or concerns about your membership, the associate will likely say they will send you the information via email—but that email never arrives. The most common response to any unhappy member is to suggest an upgrade, regardless of the issue. As a result, members often end up paying even more for a membership they were never satisfied with in the first place.
Booking with Royal Holiday presents another challenge. During the sales pitch, they promise you can travel anywhere, at any time. This is far from the truth. Your travel options depend entirely on the points you purchase, and unfortunately, they almost always sell you a small points package. By the time you realize you need more points, you're forced to upgrade and pay additional fees.
Most Royal Holiday sales are conducted outdoors or at locations other than their official sales offices. As a "courtesy," they allow you to purchase and sign the contract on the spot, with the salesperson briefly explaining the terms—often omitting important details. Some associates even send the documents to your home while you're still on vacation. By the time you return home and carefully read the contract, you realize it’s not what you thought it was—and worse, your recession period has already expired.
Royal Holiday sales associates may also tell you that you're making a great investment in real estate. This is another major lie. A timeshare is neither an investment nor real estate. You are simply leasing a hotel room for a set period once a year; you do not own the property. It is not an investment because there is no resale market or rental opportunity, meaning there is no potential for profit.

Buenas Tardes, Mi esposo adquirio un tiempo comprtido con la empresa Royal Holiday Club, ya esta totalmente pagado, el problema es que ya no podemos seguir cubriendo la cuota de mantenimiento anual y queremos cancelar el contrato. Ya nos intentamos comunicar con royal holiday para cancelar, pero parecen en vano nuestros esfuerzos, al parecer no quieren darnos la cancelacion de nuestro contrato de manera sencilla.
Tengo membresia con Royal Holiday lo contrate este año en enero nunca lo he utilizado y ya llevo una buena cantidad pagada, deseo acabar con el contrato
This all started on July26,2009 when i signed an agreement with Royal Holiday Club while on a vacation in Mexico. The purchase price was $16,5950us with a closing cost of $999.00.I have paid this in full but i am required to pay a maintenance every year to obtain points for holiday travel.The membership fee was for special treatment with upgrades as a VIP.When i travel there even to Mexico where the membership was purchased,i receive no special treatment.In fact Royal Holiday is not even @ the resort anymore.I can never book a vacation at my convenience.They always tell me that there is no availability.The only time i think that is good for them for me is hurricane season lol.I am not receiving any benefit for my money.NOTHING! I can do much better booking a vacation package on the internet which is what i had to do for this summer
hi there we currently own a royal holiday membership since 2003. only used it 3x and we find that we can find better deals. what are the chances of cancelling this contract ?
I m a french Canadian , I have a probleme with Royal-Holiday Vacation .
We were fooled too - the only reason we bought was because we thought the RCI membership cam with the program....We have tried to cancel through our credit cards the contract amount, but to no avail - I think we should all get together and get with the attorney general and get our money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Timeshare scam by Royal Holiday in Cancun. we sent a legal document to Royal Holiday, a couple of days after we returned home, to cancel our membership and naturally it was ignord. I've stopped payments due December 20 and the calls have already started. The collection agency calls everyday.
En Noviemnbre del 2008, representantes de Royal Holiday nos vendieron un timeshare a $30,000 de los cuales pagamos alrededor de $15,000. Segón Royal Holiday ellos iban a apoyarnos en la rentabilidad de los timeshares y darnos servicios. Firmamos una documentación financiera que acordaba que Royal Holiday iba a deducir de nuestra cuenta bancaria la mensualidad del acuerdo. A finales del 2009, al intentar utilizar los servicios de Royal Holiday nos indican que no se nos puede dar servicio pues por error de Royal Holiday no habia cobrado mensualidades. Tratamos de probar que esto no era cierto. en ese momento solicitamos cancelación del contrato y no hemos podido encontrar a nadie en Royal Holiday que pueda solucionarnos. A pesar de la cantidad pagada, nunca hemos podido satisfacer o tener servicios de Royal Holiday. En este momento queremos limpiar nuestro credito y que no siga apareciendo como que le debemos algo a Royal Holiday.

I just bought a time share based on their purchasing my other time shares. I see on the internet that they promise this but dont come through.I paid $7500.00 for thier share. I would like to get out!!
