Royal Holiday does not have the best reputation among timeshare resorts. Most of their sales are conducted using high-pressure tactics, and a significant number of members feel they have been lied to or scammed. Many timeshare contracts are also misrepresented during the sales process.
One of the most common scams occurs at the time of purchase: a Royal Holiday salesperson will make verbal promises to get you to sign the contract. However, the contract clearly states that any verbal promises made by the sales associate are invalid unless they are explicitly included in the written agreement.
Royal Holiday promises excellent customer service to its members, but this only seems to apply when members call to make a payment. If you have questions or concerns about your membership, the associate will likely say they will send you the information via email—but that email never arrives. The most common response to any unhappy member is to suggest an upgrade, regardless of the issue. As a result, members often end up paying even more for a membership they were never satisfied with in the first place.
Booking with Royal Holiday presents another challenge. During the sales pitch, they promise you can travel anywhere, at any time. This is far from the truth. Your travel options depend entirely on the points you purchase, and unfortunately, they almost always sell you a small points package. By the time you realize you need more points, you're forced to upgrade and pay additional fees.
Most Royal Holiday sales are conducted outdoors or at locations other than their official sales offices. As a "courtesy," they allow you to purchase and sign the contract on the spot, with the salesperson briefly explaining the terms—often omitting important details. Some associates even send the documents to your home while you're still on vacation. By the time you return home and carefully read the contract, you realize it’s not what you thought it was—and worse, your recession period has already expired.
Royal Holiday sales associates may also tell you that you're making a great investment in real estate. This is another major lie. A timeshare is neither an investment nor real estate. You are simply leasing a hotel room for a set period once a year; you do not own the property. It is not an investment because there is no resale market or rental opportunity, meaning there is no potential for profit.

I just bought a time share based on their purchasing my other time shares. I see on the internet that they promise this but dont come through.I paid $7500.00 for thier share. I would like to get out!!
Pague una membresia con Royal Holiday, hace un año intente cancelarlo porque no podia pagarlo , me dijeron que este contrato es incancelable y que solo se podia traspasar. En este año trate de hacer uso de mis puntos que tenia acumulados y nunca hubo cupo y solo podia utilizar en forma d todo incluido y se tendria que pagar aparte totalmente y directo con el hotel. En este mes practicamente terminaria de pagar la membresia, y empezaria pagar las cuotas anuales que segun ellos se incrementaran año con año. Aparte de que no tienen disponibilidad para los "socios" hacen llamadas amenazantes de que pague, Cuando ya habia hechos el pago correspondiente.
Me urge cancelar mi membresìa con Royal Holliday. La compré en Abril 2007 una Plata en Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico, en Febrero 2008 la convertí en Oro Plus para transformarla en pesos. Me dijeorn muchas mentiras queno puedo encontrar en mi contrato y no quieren cumplir con ellas.
compré un tiempo compartido en Royal Holiday, desgraciadamente me quede sin trabajo, les hable para ver si puedo cancelar el contrato, por supuesto dicen que no se puede, en una clausula del mismo dice que si puede cancelarse en fomra extemporanea.
I agreed to purchase a timeshare from the Royal Holiday in Cancun on September 7, 2010 while on vacation in Mexico. I provided a large down payment by credit card. Now that I have arrived back home in the US, I did some research and see hundreds of complaints about the company, service, and their fraudulent practices. I looked in my folder of the paperwork provided and do not see any of the figures that were shown to me during the presentation. The figures provided in the contract that I do have are different than what was discussed verbally, are per person, and include all kinds of fees that were not discolosed at the time of the purchase. I was also coerced into signing a waiver of my 5 day cancellation right, but a copy of that document was never given to me.

We bought a timeshare from Holiday Royal while we were in Cozamel. Right after we bought it the saleman and finiancal representive was fired. We don't have a lot of the paperwork that showed us what they were promising to do. One of the representives that we talked to said that if you read the contract we will find things that it fraud, so they would have to give it to us.
