Wyndham Resorts is the largest hotel company in the world, with over 7300 resorts worldwide; however, its reputation regarding timeshares is not the best.

Vacations are a good opportunity to get out of the busy daily life and spend quality time with our loved ones, however, with the struggling economy, it is becoming more difficult to find a destination that fits our budget and meets our needs.

In the effort to find economical ways to travel, fractional ownership appears to be an attractive vacation option.

Nowadays, many resorts are focused on selling timeshares, with Wyndham being one of the most prestigious. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is a corporation that was founded in Texas in 1981.

The company grew very quickly in the late 1990s, and with approximately, 7340 hotels worldwide, Wyndham has now become the world’s largest hotel company.

Wyndham Timeshare

With over 915,000 owner families, Wyndham vacation ownership, also known as Wyndham timeshare, is the largest vacation ownership business in the world.

The whole system counts 25,000 individual units in a network of 180 timeshare companies throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and the South Pacific.  During timeshare presentations at Wyndham, vacationers are offered a Wyndham timeshare points for sale package, since the company uses a points-based system.

Exchange and Rentals

Being a global leader in vacation ownership, Wyndham Timeshare has a program called Exchange & Rentals, which has 3.7 million RCI subscribing members.

Wyndham Exchange & Rentals has the goal of delivering dream holidays to leisure travelers. The company provides access to more than 100,000 vacation units in almost 100 countries.

Wyndham Complaints

Wyndham's resorts are absolutely beautiful and modern; however, the company does not have the best reputation regarding timeshares, which is not surprising given that they have an F rating on the BBB.

Most complaints are about the deceitful business practices and insulting behavior on the part of Wyndham Timeshare salespeople. According to the BBB, they have a total of 1475 complaints.

  •  1040 about the sales practices
  • 128 about collection issues
  • 3 about delivery issues
  • 304 about problems with the product/service

Wyndham timeshare presentations are hardcore and very long-lasting, people are usually pressured and bullied into buying a timeshare.

The company has been sued in federal court several times by many Wyndham timeshare owners for committing wrongs in their vacation credits, such as breach of contract, violation of California’s Timeshare Act, and breach of fiduciary duty, among others.

Another common complaint is that maintenance and assessment fees increase constantly, to the point where many timeshare owners are no longer able to keep paying them.

Many of them decide to stop paying, which is a huge mistake, since their debt is taken to a collection agency, and it ends up affecting their credit score very badly.

Is a Wyndham Timeshare a Good Purchase?

Only if you are willing to use your timeshare properly and pay the monthly timeshare maintenance fees.

Take into consideration that a timeshare is NOT a financial inversion, you can actually save more money by planning your vacations by yourself, than by purchasing a fractional ownership.

How to Get Out of a Wyndham Timeshare

There are many solutions for unwanted vacation properties.  Most people try to sell it, but they find themselves at a dead end after they realize the resale market for timeshares is not robust, and never has been.

Consequently, the best way to get out of a timeshare membership is by canceling the contract.

Timeshare cancellation has many advantages, but the most important is that once you cancel a timeshare, you do not have any further obligations attached to the resort.

At Mexican Timeshare Solutions, we assist timeshare purchasers who feel they were scammed by the resort, and we are sure of what we can achieve for you.

I am a dreamer all right. I trusted the Wyndham salesman. He was a pastor, for heaven sakes. A really nice guy.; we thought. We found out later they lied to us about combining the two owner ships we had and lowering the price. The threat of ruining our credit doesn't scare me because they already ruined our debt ratio. We will walk away from the huge debt of one of the timeshares and keep the small one. This loan is the equivalent of the cost of a mortgage; in fact it is more than the cost of a mortgage. No more VIP status but we will be able to eat.

my husband and i we were scammed very easily , we felt on their timeshare presentation trap , so there we were exposed to a high pressure with the sales persons, so finally we bought some weeks, actually we never used that but after signing the contract this people started to charge a lot of things that we never used, like the maintenance fees that are SO HIGH .

  • Alice leeJune 6, 2015, 1:53 pm

Of course not , wyndham resort few months ago scammed my grand parents, the only thing that they wanted is to invest in something that can afford to relax and another cool stuff, the truth about this resort is that they are scammers, dont buy with them and never go to a timeshare presentation , damn rats.
