About Real Club & The Real Resorts Group
Real Club (also known as The Real Club Playa Resorts) is a timeshare membership program operated by Real Resorts, a Mexican hotel chain with properties primarily located in Cancún and Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The program offers members access to all-inclusive preferential rates across the chain's resorts.

Real Club is sometimes described as being owned by RCI, the largest timeshare company in the world, though the corporate structure involves multiple entities within the Grupo BD conglomerate.
Common Complaints
Real Club timeshare owners and guests have reported a pattern of deceptive sales practices and unfulfilled promises:
1. Unfulfilled Buyback Contracts – Owners report signing buyback contracts (e.g., to sell back interest after 10 years) only to have the company refuse to honor the agreement. One complainant reported being denied a $10,000 buyback.
2. RCI Affiliation Issues – Owners were told they could exchange weeks through RCI, but later discovered that The Royal is no longer affiliated with RCI (having been rebranded to Hilton/Hyatt). When contacting Real Club, they were told they could only use weeks at designated resorts and would have to pay $300 for an "extensive list" of locations.
3. No Price Advantage for Members – Members have found no difference in price whether using their weeks or booking directly. Some resorts require three weeks to use, with prices still exceeding $4,000.
When we signed up in 2013 we had a buyback contract to sell back our interest in 10 years. Followed all the rules and they are refusing to give us our $10,000. Robbery!

If you pay for the room through an agency, you get the same value of he all inclusive that you have to pay as a membership. They told me at the Real Club resort that I have access to better rooms. It´s true in part, because you have to book well in advance to maybe get the luxury rooms. On the other hand, it is impossible to exchange the weeks for some other unit on the exchange list, they won´t pick up the phone on the reservation numbers and when they do, there is no vailability.
When my husband and I purchased weeks into the Real Club with The Royal in Playa del Carmen, Mexico we were told they use RCI and I can transfer my weeks to RCI and get vacations in other places. We never got to use the weeks until we recently retired. I called RCI to see where we could go to and to renew my subscription. I'm told that The Royal is no longer affiliated when them and they are now the Hilton Hyatt. I called Real Club and they said I couldn't use my weeks like that anymore with RCI and I could only use them at their designated resorts. I was given a list of a few locations and if I would like an extensive list I could buy one for $300. Nope, I'm not paying it.
I looked at a few of their resorts and I called Real Club back to see what it would cost to go to one of "their" resorts. I saw no difference on the price weather they used my weeks or I booked directly without weeks. I was told the resort I was looking at would have to have 3 weeks required to use them. The price was still over $4,000. I was told by RCI that I could transfer the weeks and get a rate of approximately $300 for the full 7 days, not per day. Quite a big difference.
When I purchased my weeks from The Royal (Real Club) I was told I could use more of my weeks to upgrade plus exchange them, like to RCI.
What I was told yesterday and today from the Real Club is not what I purchased and I think if they are not going to honor what they sold then buy my weeks back from me at full price I paid or transfer them to an affiliated company like RCI so I can use them like it was when I purchased them.
I am so upset over this, especially since I was not told anything about not being able to use my weeks as when I purchased them. I have a lot of weeks I'll never use because they are worth nothing to me the way I have to use them now.
I just want some answers and would like them to honor what was sold to me.
It's a total ripoff. I can't even renew my RCI membership because now I "don't have a membership into a resort". Not RCI's fault, all blame is on the Real Club. Those of us who purchased weeks so STILL be able to use the weeks and continue to use RCI.
We go to Cancun they want us to buy a time share
everything they told us wasn't true. This is a fraudulent don't buy any things from real clubs share.

I would like to end my contract with real club
Peor que una pesadilla estas personas, no es justo que este tipo de resorts continuen estafando de esta forma, nada de lo que nos ha n prometido han cumplido, no nos han respetado nuestras semanas firmadas en el contrato, se empeñan en darle prioridad a otras personas y no nos dan ninguna explicación.
