In essence, buying a timeshare means that you get to share a vacation property with different parties, usually divided by 52 weeks.

One of The Most Popular Frauds in Mexico

Mexican timeshare fraud has been increasing over the last few years, according to PROFECO, the Government’s Consumer Protection Agency in Mexico.

Only this year, from January to April, 478 complaints about 20 different timeshare companies have already been filed, but that is only the beginning.

After the complaint is filed, it takes a long time to accomplish a conciliation of the case, and that is not always possible.

Before buying a timeshare in Mexico, it is very important that you know your timeshare cancellation rights

When you purchase a timeshare in Mexico, you have 5 business days to cancel the contract; this is after the contract is signed.

Another important thing to know, is that under the Mexican law, verbal promises are not valid if they are not written.

Therefore, you should read your contract very carefully before you sign it.

Very BAD experience actually we are living with ROYAL HOLIDAY,we bought a membership with them last year, the only thing that we really acquired are problems, the maintenance fees are so expensive compared to the cost that the sales people told us in the timeshare presentation, we dont want it anymore, we need help to cancel our membership.

You realize that you were scammed when the resort dont give you what you deserve, when you bought the membership exist many things that convince you to buy and many people dont know how to fight against this but the better way is to avoid timeshare presentations, dont get involved .

My family has 115000 tied up with them. spent over the last 15 yrs all on the beliefs that this was something that would appreciate in value. There salesmen told us that it was will able property in which we would grow equity. Today they told us they were worthless. never had any value so we are in the process of seeking legal action

Is to easy to know whenis a scam , nobody tell you many beautifull things about a timeshare, behind that exist a lot of interest of the salespeople to buy them something, those guys are experts on the field, if it necesary they will going to force you even to offer some free breakfasts or free rides, al those "free" things are techniques to hook you ,pls try to avoid these stuff
