We purchased Elcid timeshare a number of years ago. The contract, which we were not able to see before we left, was changed so at the ages of 76 we were under a 20 year contract, something we did not sign. A few letters to the Resort were answered but not to our satisfaction. We live in Canada, I contacted the Mexican Consulate here and to my surprise half of our "membership" fee was returned but we were required to sign a release stating that we would not inform others of how we received our partial refund. This resort has unscrupulous salesmen who will lie to you at every turn.
worst decision I have taken ever. The benefits are poor at best for what you pay. The reservation process is a nightmare and it is very complicated. the points are worthless when you try using them for cruises or flights and even other resorts. also the all-inclusive package is not included in the platinum membership which means that you have to pay out of pocket per person per day and that is simply too much money. cheap Caribbean.com and Travelocity.com are much better options for booking reservations because they have discounts without having a membership. I tried to cancel my membership and they said I have to pay $20K to opt out of my contract which is ridiculous because I have already paid them 14 K out of the 46K which was the total cost of the contract. THIS IS A TRUE SCAM..............
Pesima decision la que tomamos al comprar con estas personas, llevamos ya casi 3 años con la membresia y solo hemos tenido problemas, las personas del Cid no se quieren hacer responsables y ya nos ignoran por completo, no podemos seguir asi, necesitamos ayuda urgente.
Es comodo, no es un mal hotel, ya que por ello en su momento aceptamos comprar una membresía con ellos, el problema es su personal, las personas encargadas de venta son de lo peor, nada de lo que nos prometieron resulto verdad, la prueba es que llevamos casi 3 años sin poder usar la membresia , siempre esta ocupado ! ya no podemos seguir esperando y seguir pagando.
que tal , fue un error muy grande aver comprado una membresia con el cid , ya que nada de los que nos prometieron fue verdad, ademas de que el precio que dan al principio termina cambiando drasticamente conforme vas pagando las cuotas de mantenimiento , y lo que me hace escribir en este lugar es que nisiquiera lo hemos podido usar y seguimos pagando , en realidad asi son todos los resorts? muy mal el cid
Dont get caught . if you go and they start to insist you to assit to a timeshare presentation please dont go ! all is part of the hook , even if they promise free stuff, like breakfast, money , rides, etc believe me , all of this is dont worth of what happens next once you get in the timeshare presentation.
They failed me , really you dont want to invest on this resort, the only thing that im sure is that all the things that they told you in the timeshare presentation is not true..so please dont step forward to sign with them , actually im fighting against them to get my money back !
Hola que tal , muy mal todas esas persona que estan a cargo de este resort, EL CID , en mazatlan mi esposo y yo asistimos a una presentacion de tiempo compartido donde nos casi forzaron a comprar una membresia, despues de casi 3 horas finalmente dijimos no , casi nos corren los vendedores del lugar , un cambio drastico de cuando entramos, nos dimos cuenta que esas personas no tienen el mas minimo tacto hacia el cliente y solo buscan tu dinero .
We also are victims of El Cid scam. They makes themembership very attractive, but the fact is that it's still less expenvive to buy our trip with our private travel agency, than using our points, that's ridiculus. We spend about 20 000$ and we are not able to get any refund. We never used points and benefit. They threaten us with financial collection agency. Profeco could get us a try to get an agreement, but the only propositions were to get a special assistance with the membership or a cancellation with no refund.
Pesimo servicio de este resort, al principio creo que todo era maravilloso , nos ofrecian promociones que en verdad valian la pena, pero de un tiempo para aca las cosas han cambiado , ya ni siquiera podemos utilizar nuestra membresia ya que nos piden que la actualizemos, cosa que no nos dijeron durante la presentacion , y asi una serie de cosas que lo unico que quieren es sacarnos mas dinero.
