How to Cancel the Mayan Palace Timeshare Contract Within the Rescission Period?

Every timeshare contract has a rescission period. When purchasing a timeshare in Mexico, as in the case of the Mayan Palace, you have five calendar days to cancel your timeshare contract. You may follow the following steps:

  1. Read your timeshare contract with Mayan Palace and localize the clause about the cancellation of the contract.
  2. Write a timeshare cancellation letter and send it to the resort via certified mail to Mayan Palace. Keep evidence that you canceled on time.

How Can I Cancel a Mayan Palace Timeshare Contract When the Rescission Period Has Expired?

Once the rescission period has expired, it becomes more difficult to cancel your timeshare agreement.

Timeshare cancellation is a process that requires lots of time and negotiations with the timeshare resort, Mayan Palace in this case, and several people aren’t able to accomplish the process for themselves.

It is important to know that there are many timeshare cancellation companies that claim to charge upfront fees to get your timeshare contract canceled, but this is another scam.

Before you make any formal deal, it is important that you do research and investigate the company.

Mexican Timeshare Solutions works on a contingency basis and only collects fees if the contract is fully canceled; otherwise, no fee is charged.

I just got back from vacation from cancun and realized I fell for there lies. I'm sick to my stomach thinking how can I get out of this. I have read the similar situation of what some people have done. I can't wait until tomorrow to get thing going. But yes I purchased the grand Mayan two weeks that I can't use because I was told I had to rent them for five years. TWhen I got home for vacation, I noticed I got no calls, no emails. Was only left with credit charges of $18,000. So I panic. Called everywhere but it seems that I'm not getting any real answers. Now I will place complaint with profeco in Mexico. If anyone can help me w more info on what I need to do to cancel w these people. Please guide me :(

I have never understood timeshares. You pay a lot of money for the right to go to the same place the same time every year, besides you pay mainenance fees, anual fees. What a waste of money.

This isn't complicated: Just don't sign anything. If you think you might be interested in the timeshare, take the paperwork with you, study the contract carefully, run the numbers yourself and show it all to somebody who knows more than you do. Anybody who says "You have to buy now!" is conning you. Educate yourself by renting "Glengarry Glen Ross" ("Only one thing counts in this life: Get them to sign on the line which is dotted...").

I went to Two presentations in February and got one time 2000Pesos and two bottles of Bacardi and second time at the Mayan Palace 2000pesos and a 1hour massage, and i also got approached by a different person at our meeting point but i said no we are waiting for somebody else and when she arrived all went very well. after those two times my wife bugged me to go to more Presentations (to make money ) but i said not this year. But i would have a chance to have my vacation paid by the Timeshare guys
It is not that bad, You get to see a nice resort you get a delicious breakfast, money, booze, some offer you activities (do not settle for less than 3 activities for each of you they will do it) talk to usually nice people and after all you have the option of saying no thank you ( you will have to say that to 3 different people usually) and if you start early enough to say no than you will not spend all afternoon there.

Does anyone have some creative ways to get rid of a timeshare? I'm stuck with one that I can't seem to sell and at this point I just want to get out from under the maintenance fees. The normal ways to go about it don't seem to be working, so I'm looking for anything than might help me get rid of it.

Years ago i had a very bad experience with this resort, i was scammed truly.. all started because i went to a timeshare presentation , they offered to me a lot of benefits, they give me free breakfast, rides and another discounts to many places, all this stuff is a total trap , all was crap and nothing true, so pls be careful.

This is really quite hilarious. I have owned a timeshare before and while buying it didn't go exactly like this I totally understand the illustration. I had a similar experience buying a car, that same runaround, calling the manager, and always scribbling incoherent notes on paper. Good thing you didn't buy in; my wife and I wound up getting way in over our heads and needed a timeshare relief title transfer. That top ten from saving advice should be xeroxed and distributed freely outside every timeshare presentation in the US. Cheers!

Mayan Palace timeshares are NOTHING but a scam. The salespeople tell you one thing, then once you make the purchase, you find out it was all lies. If you know anyone who is contemplating buying one, tell them not to waste their money. For the amount they would spend on it, they could easily take a vacation once a year, and they won't be saddled with maintenance fees, etc.
