We have the same story. We were able to get our contract cancelled and $1, 000 of our $14, 000 back. So many have been ripped off it's amazing that the Mexican gov't allows these crooks to continue to operate.

We were approached by someone on the street to go check out an Avalon Vacation Club timeshare for $20. I said it wasn't worth it. He kept raising the amount until he was offering us $90 to go listen. I said to my husband, I can spend an hour or two for $90. So we went. After the meal and the spiel, we told them we weren't interested and they got nasty. We went and collected our $90 and took the kids horseback riding for an hour which we thoroughly enjoyed.

I have timeshare with Avalon and am trying to find a way out. I purchased December 08 and have yet to use my points. I was not told that the points expire and the salesperson misrepresented all the facts.

I bought Avalon Club timeshare in April 2012 because the sales person lied to me. She said I could get $17/night. In addition all flights would be cheaper through them. When I called to book a flight, I found it more expensive. The $17/night was a lie too. I didn't read the contract when I got it from her. Is there any consumers protection to complaint to, even if I was negligent and didn't read the contract do I have any rights? I will never trust a sales person. I don't want to pay maintenance fee $900 every year.

I would like to know more about reporting a high pressure, demeaning sales process that was full of lies. We are just finding out how bogus our purchase was, and would like this company to be legally FORCED to stop ripping people off!!!

Hola, estoy de acuerdo que esos TC son un verdadero fraude, por otro lado, en serio, cuando uno va de vacaciones lo menos que puede uno pedir es que lo dejen descansar, y esos vendedores no lo dejan a uno en paz !!

My husband and I also were scammed by Avalon timeshare is 2013! We were promised 10 break a way weeks that could be sold for $1, 000. That did not happen!!

  • JosephAugust 31, 2015, 2:33 pm

What's worst with these timeshare scams at Avalon is that they victimized usually those owners who wanted to extract some amount even though they cannot recover the full cost before dumping their timeshare property. So, for some timeshare owners wanting to get rid of their units, beware!
