How Long Do I Have to Cancel a Timeshare Contract?

Sunset world timeshare cancellation should be done as soon as you feel unhappy with your purchase.

You must know that every contract has a period to cancel it, which depends on the state the purchase was made. In Mexico, there is a 5 business day’s cancellation period.

By law, every timeshare agreement must contain a clause with exact instructions on how to cancel the contract. You should read your timeshare contract and look for this clause.

If you still are on your business days to cancel the contract, you should write a timeshare cancellation letter and send it to Sunset resorts Mexico. This letter must have the next information:

  • Full name
  •  Address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Contract number
  • Date of purchase
  • A statement that you want the cancellation of your contract.
  • Signature

Once you send the cancellation letter, it is important you keep evidence that you send it on time.

Many people have been scammed for thesetimeshare sharks. They are creative in how they get your money but times are really tough in all property sales endeavours.

I’ve also only heard negative things about timeshares at Sunset. The sales tactics involved are obviously some of the most aggressive compared to any other industry.

We were sucked in with the vaciation ideas and the fast numbers. Now that we are trying to use our Sunset week through RCI the took another $400 just to tell us there is not a timeshare anywhere that meets our needs. Please if you find a way out of the scam share the information. Thanks

Have you ever thought of a class action suit or is that possible for an American citizen to file a class action in Mexico? Just a thought. I hate those people with a passion.

Timeshare presentations are super scammy, I did get a free dinner at Sunset restaurant out of the presentation though. Going to presentations (even though a waste of time) can get you free stuff, so I would do it again but I would NEVER buy. As soon as you feel unconfortable you must leave.

I own a timeshare week with Sunset Group week 52 (whatever than mean in real terms). I live in the UK (permanently) and bought the timeshare when I worked in the US for the last 15 years. I still have 3 years left to pay the mortgage but the fees are now around $600 a year. Now that I'm self employed I find that I am neither willing to pay nor able to spare the money to pay these monthly and yearly fees. I wonder if anyone has any advice?

I am a Sunset Group timeshare owner. As such, I own nothing but debt and ongoing "maintenance" fees which do not correlate with this property. I want to get rid.

I just returned from Playa del Carmen and purchased a very expensive timeshare agreement with the Sunset Group in Playa del Carmen. Unfortunately, I didn't have my computer with me and didn't do any research before taking the deal. Since returning home, I've done some surfing and all signs point to danger! I'm trying to get out of it, but I've read so many stories about scammers cancellation companies. If anyone has any guidance on that, I would appreciate it.

the main problem of this resort is that something that they cant bring, all those sales people are experts to convice you , offering some meal or breakfast for free , i can say that a timeshare is NOT a good option , could be the worst investment you can ever do , the timeshare people only want your money and their commision, dont matter how they want you in, and many other tricky stuff, just avoid timeshare presentations.
