In my experience it is going to be very difficult to get rid of your timeshares if you still owe money on them. Nobody is going to want to take over your debt plus be held liable for yearly maintenance fees.

All well and good but what is the bottom line? Has anyone here actually been successful in getting rid of their time share burden? I paid a small company to sell / rent mine and of course they needed the money up front and to date, no results.....surprise, surprise!! I just can't bear to be ripped off yet again and there seem to be numerous agencies on the net claiming 100% money back guarantees....how do you know who to trust in this business?? HELP Please!!

I bought a timeshare at Sunset 2 years ago. Of course what the salesperson said and promised was a lie. Two days later I personally talked with a manager and told them I wanted to cancel, gave them my book etc. Manager said ok. Found out later when I was back home in the states and I called the credit card company to find out if I received my refund they told me that it wasn’t canceled. I have been around the block many many times on this situation that it kills me to think about it. I’m stuck with a timeshare I don’t want and can’t even get a week when I wanted to make reservation. Please stay away from the timeshare gimmick.
