I´m so confused because I was told that with my points I will have access to another kind of bedroom, but I have just seen on the official website and the point chart and I realize that it is different to the other one that my sales person show me, I’m scared of becoming a victim of timeshare , but after seeing all these comentarios, I have the worst  foreboding

We purchased a membership at el cid vacations club and when we return home we have attempted to use the contact information provided to us and could not reach anyone. We have left messages and no messages have been returned. We believe that el cid misrepresented their product, have not delivered the services that they reported to be selling. Therefore, we are looking the cancellation of our contract.

  • ArnoldApril 12, 2012, 10:11 am

What should I do if I don´t want my membership anymore and I´m out of my 5 days rescission period…I don’t feel comfortable with  my membership because I have not received any communication from them. They told me that I would receive some paperwork and I never got it, despite several phone calls asking for them to sent it to me.

I want to know if there is anything I can do to get out of my contract with El cid. We were completely misrepresented, the contract was signed on June 12th,2010. We made a down payment for $3,000 which if possible I would like to get back.

We purchased a timeshare in Mazatlan with el cid. What we signed and what we thought we were getting was different. We purchased on the understanding that our timeshare would be bought  by el cid and with that money was going to pay our membership, that was what the seller told us, but 2 days ago they change the agreement, now they told us that  we have to pay the membership because the other membership wasn`t sold yet and our time has expired  and that they did not acquire our membership and they are not the company in charge of selling the property.

  • KristineApril 12, 2012, 10:11 am

We were taken advantage by el cid and we would like some help, we were promised that our property would be sold for $50,000 US we were counting with that amount to pay some debts and part of the membership at el cid, now that we discover that we are never going to receive that money we are desperate and we don’t have the money to pay the membership .

I am trying to cancel my timeshare with El Cid Vacation Club. After reviewing the contract, we decided that we did not want to keep the timeshare. We are within our 5 days rescission period but we don’t want to have problems to cancel our contract.  We require your services and my husband has sent you an email already with all our information.

I have ready alot of the comentarios on your site from other timeshare owners with regards to the El Cid Towers/El Moro Beach timeshare.
I have experienced pretty much exactly what all of the others are stating have been their experiences.
I bought a timeshare with them through the Holiday Group off the internet located in the US (I am in Canada).  I paid $1800 for this contract and I used it for the first time in Feb/10.  1bdrm, huge place, absolutely loved it, 8 yrs, $680 maintenance.
I am currently in the process of buying another timeshare at the Inn at Mazatlan for a $1 from ebay.  I stayed in this resort with family members last yr.  This account is to last till 2039 and $372 maintenance.
I have to say I absolutely LOVE Mazatlan and the Mexican culture, and I would love to actually own a house down there in one of their gated communities.
However, when I was staying at the El Cid, I went to a timeshare presentation and "hooked on" to my aunt/uncles timeshare at "deeply" discounted prices.  My timeshare, for which I thought I was getting another 1bdrm as the one I stayed in turns out it is for 110,000 points.  I went to book it, now for the last month - to no avail, and alot of runaround.  The only thing I supposedly qualify for is 95,000 points with 15,000 extra points.  They said they would take my 8yr contract from previous deal and roll into this one to have given me the better deal.  I finally actually managed to find this one, but deal only with front reception.  In some ways from them not being able to acquire it makes me feel as tho this may be my only saving grace tho I havent actually tried to book it yet, but have booked being in Mazatlan again this yr for another 3 wks in Feb.
Anyways, this 15yr contract cost me 17k, paid around 5k down, and a loan in San Diego contacting me with payments for the other 12k.  Their interest rate is thru the roof, and they keep losing my payments and tacking on 10% of the total each month as a late charge.  I supposedly have an RCI account but they keep transferring me to different units which say they are all El Cid but no one knows what the other is doing.  I thought ok I will just live with the screwup and sell the extra points, one of the main reasons why I got involved.  Uh-yea, the extra points cant be sold.  I was also told I could sell these points back to them for actual REAL real estate they owned I could buy from them to build a house on to live there, a place of my own, and another reason why I bought the timeshare.  I also wanted to borrow points from future yrs to make up to a 1bdrm.  Cant do this either, well sort of..for a price.  Was told I could use all 15yrs in 1yr if I wanted.  Nope, cant do that either.  None of this has turned out to be true.
Now reading all of this I have a few concerns...I plan to keep the 8yr contract and the new one I will acquire in the next month from the Inn at Mazatlan.  How will going through this affect my ability to re-enter Mexico, or Mazatlan in general?  Ive heard a few horror stories of being approached by Mexican officials threatening you to leave their country or bodily harm when rescinding on a contract such as this.  If I want to use my 8yr contract but only want out of the one 15 yr 17k one, how will this affect my ability to stay in their resort in the future, or any other resort for that matter?  How much do you charge if you are able to cancel the contract?
My family has been staying at and going to Mazatlan at the Inn at Mazatlan for the last 28yrs and the Pueblo for the last 19yrs with no problems.  I plan to keep going there over and over again with my family.  I love the city and the country and being only mid-30's I have alot of yrs left I'd like to go there and not be afraid of some sort of harm or retribution.
Can I have a little more reassurance on this one?  And, how would this procedure be handled favorably?  I am not interested in making any enemies in a foreign country I plan to return to.
    Thanks,
    Duane

My timeshare at el cid was a scam and I want to cancel it, I´m not able to sell it and I don’t have enough money to pay for it, I spent a lot of money listing my property for sale, but it didn´t work. Now we are having difficult times and we can’t pay the membership. I emailed several times the resort and they didn’t help me either. I would like to know if you can do anything to help me?
