Timeshare promotions come and go, and they can be very attractive at first sight. Find out more about these timeshare deals and whether they are really convenient for you and your family.

Vacations or Holidays are the perfect time to spend quality time with your loved ones and get away from the busy city life.

Vacationers want to look for a place to have a good time with their families or significant others at an affordable price.

However, with the current state of the economy, it has become more important to think about what is best for our pockets. Many people consider on taking timeshare promotions and promos.

The following paragraphs will describe what timeshare deals are and how they work.

Timeshare Promotions

Timeshare promotions are deals that are supposed to offer you a fantastic vacation at highly discounted prices. There are several places where you might find these deals:

On the Internet

Timeshare owners list their timeshares for rental, but the truth is that the prices are usually inflated since you have to cover the maintenance fees, plus the profit.

Timeshare resorts

Timeshare companies are always offering special deals and packages, such as high discounts at the resort, but there’s a catch: first, you have to attend a 90 to 240-minute timeshare presentation

They say you do not have to purchase a timeshare in order to get the deal, but the truth is that you only get the discount if you make a purchase.

If you don’t, it is more likely that you will only get discount tickets for different shops and sometimes even nothing.

 Resale market

Others think of buying on the resale market.  If you take a look on eBay, you will find a many timeshare promotions at attractive destinations, starting at $1.00 USD.

It might sound like a good deal, but the wrinkle is that you have to assume the responsibility to cover the annual fees. Those fees will increase in large numbers each year.

Think about what’s best for your pocket

With this struggling economy, it is better for us to think about what is best for our pockets.

Before taking any hasty decision, it is important to compare all the possible options and not let ourselves be dazzled by the first timeshare deals we see.

We made a few comparative charts with the price of using a timeshare week and the price of booking package deals to the same resort.

The results showed that you actually can save more money by planning your own vacation than by getting a timeshare promotion.

Too late?

If you made a purchase that you regret, it is never too late to settle things down.

Timeshares can be a big headache, but there is always the possibility to cancel the contract and cut the strings attached to the resort.

My parents own a timeshare and they have only used it twice out of the 8 years they've had it. It cost them about $5,800 and I believe they are still paying on it to this day! Basically, they find themselves opting for other adventures rather than the constraints of the timeshare. I say don't do it. My husband and I also went to one of those super-high pressure sales pitches many years ago just for the $50 gift incentive. We barely left financally unscathed because the sales tactics were unrelenting. I've also noticed that many classifieds in the paper are selling timeshares from private individuals for half the cost. Personally, I wouldn't want the rules, regulations, and financial headaches associated with these plans.

I just got the call today for the exact same thing. As much as I would like to get some free trips, at least, I don't think it is worth the time and hassle of driving down to the showroom to waste their time.

Promotions are only a hook to catch more people and continue scamming, these guys never have enough.

Be wary of "great deals" and low prices. How many legitimate companies can survive considerably lower prices from competitors? A real business is not asked to take a hasty decision. Answer your questions and ask you to consult with experts and other reliable sources. Do not sign what you do not understand.

This is always a big scam, I'm used to seeing it everywhere:
timeshares = fraud, always offer you the best things, promotions, but
never do they keep their word.

I don't believe in timeshares, I can't believe what people can do with other persons. Is so sad.
I really don't think that timeshares are good deals.

ALERT!!, I have an experience, we believed in everything after washed coconut (vacation bind to families, etc.) we have not come out because we never paid availability and we are paying maintenance and the fee goes up every year, with the hope that, we'll go this year, but when you go on vacation you call them by phone, leave us hanging too long and never availability in the hotels you handle, only have two hotel types, themselves, who call them "founder development" and all others who are called "members developments" (the latter are temporary, because constantly in and out as part of the chain of hotels), is that when you want to do well in advance booking to not put buts, is that as was "affiliated development" because it is not and therefore they have no connection with the hotel and the end result can not give you the service, I committed the stupidity of paying the total order to have an attractive discount, (and paid in dollars or the equivalent in local currency) after you read the fine print says that if you cancel you lose 90% of the amount paid ... a true scam ,I don't want to fall back into something similar, but at least I want to alert all people. "timeshares ARE a TRUE FRAUD".

Last year I went on vacation to Mayan Palace Resort with my family, in fact they offer us a free tour. I think it was a gift from de resort, but the real intention of it was to sell us a timeshare. Obviously they tried to convince me in all the possible ways to buy a timeshare. I had already heard about timeshares and I've never been agree with them. I think they are unnecessary and they make you pay for them a lot.
I said no, and the salesman got angry but I didn't really care about it because they can't force me to buy it.
