Is Real Club timeshare a scam?
Dont get caught with this people of playa del sol , please dont accept the timeshare presentation, all its a high pressure trap! we felt and actuallly we still fighting against them.
5 Years ago we acquired a timeshare membership with playa del sol, many promises about a bunch of benefits but it doesnt happens, actually after that, we still fighting against them to quit, we want a full refund of our money.
The tour company is almost certainly real. But, they may try to get you to buy stuff as well. Use the tickets, and continue to politely decline to buy whatever you don't want.
They got me too. I actually thought we had a decent price, and wanted the deal to work. But they lied about everything. We couldn't get reservations 9 months in advance. Our "VIP week" couldn't be booked at all. We couldn't use the 2 weeks concurrently (travel w/family). We couldn't extend a stay (at our cost) ouside of the proscribed 7 days.
I have the same experience - the certificate is a scam! I had to let two certificates expired. In my opinion the whole timeshare industry is a big scam. I am trying to get rid of my time-share unit.
Unfortunately, Playa del Sol sales in Mexico are in its majority a huge scam. The OPC, the one on the street inviting you makes $250-$350 per couple...so be sure he tells you any lie there is. Timeshare sales people are rotating from place to place and mostly alcoholics that look for their 8% comission. We were surprised how they work, like sharks, and some are really good showing numbers, benefits, etc...If i did not know, i probably would have bought. Be careful and NEVER make a decision the same day!! They love this, just tell them that you need to think about and they will throw in all they have..that is the sign that someting is not quite right...
I'm interested to know if I stop my payments to Playa del Sol what happen? I'm a timeshare owner and I can no longer afford to pay the timeshare fees.
I think timeshares are a poor investment. I would never get one, not even from this company. Its very rare to hear anything good about them. All I hear about is timeshare relief scams and hidden fees.
Right now I am filing with Profeco and I also filled a complaint on the ripoffreport.com and thesqueakywheel.com Everytime someone logs on to that complaint Playa del Sol gets an e-mail message, it also shows up on search engines for yahoo and google. They have actually now responded to me after 2 years of trying to get a hold of someone. If you have noticed their e-mail addresses on their website no longer work and when you call they just put you on hold and no one ever comes back to talk to you. We were totally lied to and I would do anything to get my money back. If anyone has any other ideas let me know. Thank you.
